We chose to spend 12 days in Essaouira in order to relax and enjoy this seaside town out of season. The atmosphere at Dar Nafoura was just perfect for that. After a long stroll along the beach going back to the Riad was a pleasure. The fireplace would be on and Monique would offer us mint tea or coffee (and...

Although the Riad itself is very nice, and the new owner is nice, I did not appreciate having to take my 2 weeks piece of luggage to the 4th floor myself in a narrow staircase. I believe if you have 4 floors, you should at least have a "monte-charge" otherwise, it's good if you're a backpacker. Breakfast was good, dinner...

I’ve traveled one month in Morocco during the summer with some friends and my girlfriend. I’ve stopped in Essaouira twice during my trip and stayed at the Riad Dar Nafoura both times – initially chose it mainly for the location as situated 2 minutes away from the gate Bab Marrakech and close to the beach (walking distance). The rooftop and...

We were met at the Bab Marrakech entrance to the Medina within 5 mins of calling to say we had arrived and led to the Riad. The Riad is in a great location, it has a beautiful entrance hall and is really quiet considering its location. We opted for a cheap room so it was pretty small compared to the...

Very easy to find with an extremely helpful host in Sylvie. Breakfast was delicious. Our room was upgraded to a suite, which was spacious and very comfortable. Sylvie, please send your husband regards from the couple from 'kaptun' ;-) Wouldn't stay anywhere else in the medina. Essaouria is a must see, relaxing and the medina not as expensive and full...

It was our first time in Essaouira, and on entering the riad we were immediately impressed by the quiet, restful atmosphere for somewhere located in the busy streets near the centre of the old medina. Service was impeccable, we were made very welcome with a personal meet & greet from the bus station, and daily mint tea and home made...

Beautiful, friendly- when we checked in, the owner Sylvie sat down to tea with us and gave us a map of the town and went through all of her recommendations (which all turned out to be great). In the medina but not too hard to find

We literally stumbled on this place by pure chance-and what a chance! From the otuside it looked like nothing special, a small alley leading to a dark door-but once inside it was spectacular, an incredible hotel bdone out in a really interesting way to celebrate local culture and provide a little European luxury. The owners are a couple from Brittany...
