in the medina of essaouira,at the end of avenue sidi mohammed ben abdallah, riad L´Lune´toile (moonstar) is a hidden gem for travellers and families. a little away from the crowd, it offers anything a traveller need. beautyfull rooms and a calm atmosphere with rooftop n´tea-parlour, the eternal seagulls circling over citywalls and shoreline, you will wish to extend your stay...

Thanks to Sue and her wonderful team, we had a great introduction to Essaouira. We stayed in room 4, which was spacious, clean, and gloriously cool after Marrakech, although we all envied the private terrace of the apartment and will definitely book this should we return. The riad was a super base for exploring the medina, and Sue's tips ensured...

I will certainly pass on this message, and thank you for taking the time to write to TA. We look forward to your return, one day, to appartment number 5, with the private terrace....bienvenue and thanks....Sue and...

I recently stayed at the Riad Lunetoille in Essouria and had the most fabulous time. It is a very beautifully decorated guesthouse with bright spacious rooms. You can have the full use of the Riad and there is a self- catering kitchen for all guests to.use. There is also a rooftop patio were you can decide to have breakfast if...

I stayed in LuneToile with wife, parents, parents-in-law, brothers and their respective families for two nights in July 2010. The place had been recommended to us by friends, and we enjoyed a very pleasant time there, not least thanks to the friendly welcoming of the staff. Since we were altogether 11-12 persons we had rented the riad all for ourselves,...

I have just returned home from a wonderful few days in Morocco. To be honest my heart is still in Lunetoile Riad. The rooms are picture perfect and could put many an expensive boutique hotel to shame. Sue the hostess alongside local staff make the stay at Lunetoile a truly unforgetable experience. From the homemade shortbread biscuits (delicious) through to...

The riad is hidden within the old historic buildings of the medina. If you step in, you'll be surprised how big and characteristic the place is. My stay was very comfortable, clean and the hostess was so helpful and friendly. The breakfast was simple but tasty - and we could have it on the terrace, which is very pleasant as...

Thank you so much for your comments, and I would agree, that, during the 5-6 days of the Gnaoua music festival, (when another 200 000 people come to Essaouira), walking around Anywhere in the medina, after about 11pm, would be difficult and uncomfortable, unless one was in a large group, or, as you rightfully did, was accompanied by some local...

As soon as you walk in you forget you are in the middle of a bustling medina. Beautiful colour scheme and interior, I particularly liked the black and white photography on the walls. We were shown great care from the start when we were collected from the bus stop and escorted to the guesthouse to be greeted with some mint...

Love your 'Unsavoury characters lurking around in the street'!! Yes - sadly - all part and parcel of the Gnaoua Music Festival, when more than 200 000 people come to Essaouira! Sadly, a small minority of whom, are not here for the music, but, only to loiter with 'intent'! So, always best to be on the safe side, and keep...

We stayed here for 4 days and had a great time. Sue was a wonderful host and very helpful. The room was clean and tidy but next time I'll go for the big one! The roof top terrace is wonderful, with a great view of the sea and the medina. We'll be back!
