Its like coming home for me.Staff are friendly and the club rocks. After a day packed with adrenaline adventures, this is the perfect spot to unwind and meet the locals.Johnny the bar man is a legend, always willing to help and a big smile to welcome anyone to his bar.Clean rooms and adequate.

Proviso to this review: my boyfriend and I had been overlanding, and therefore sleeping in a tent, for a month before staying in a double en-suite at Gruner Kranz. Our 3 night stay here was absolutely fantastic. We had a courtyard room which was perfectly quiet and private. We were here over a weekend and still didn't notice too much...

I settled fine this place after reading some reviews..but when i got there i was extremely disappointed.. 1. There is a night club or bar at the premises that plays loud music daily 2. Breakfasts were poor...recycled food, no alternative non pork options 3. The rooms are not thoroughly cleaned, expect dust on the walls, dirty bathroom taps and shower...

We were very fortunate to stay in the Guesthous Gruner Kranz rather than the hotel which looks like a backpacker hostel rather than a hotel. The rooms at the guesthouse are to the rear of the property and are motel style. They have a dining area but the kitchen is not kitted out. As we were only staying one night...

Please note: Gruner Kranz also has a club and therefore I never intended to stay there as i thought it would be noisy and we would get no sleep, however arriving in swakop we found out that we did not have our planned accommodation anymore, and we went to gruner kranz and what a wonderful surprise. They gave us a...

The room I stayed in was large, clean, and comfortable. Centrally located, the hotel is within walking distance to many restaurants, ATM's, food markets, and the Swakopmund lighthouse and craft market. The breakfast selection was fairly basic, but well prepared and tasty. Wifi was free, but reception was not good and my room and I had to go to the...

Essential room tip is to stay in the back, as far away from the bar is possible, as it is loud and runs late. The room was large, the beds comfortable, in-room safe welcome, and good running water. The hotel is used by a lot of overland tour groups, and the bar is definitely a younger scene. Same day laundry...

After a very long day of driving from sossesvlei, we settled into a dorm room at this establishment and instantly hit the bar. This being the case, I have little to remark upon regarding the room itself although I do remember that it had spring mattresses, which was nice. The bar is a local hangout and so the evening ended...

This is a so-so hotel. The rooms are basic. We spent one sleepless night here due to a group of young people next door who played loud music all night. Two calls to reception resulted in temporary relief. Though the music was turned down when requested, it wasn't long before it was back to full volume. The music finally stopped...

I stayed with a group of 3 girls (4 of us in total). The place was clean, but the hot water in the shower ran out so quickly I always had an ice cold shower. Also, don't expect to get a good nights sleep though. The music from the bar is so loud you are guaranteed to be awake until...
