I stayed for 4 nights in hostel mamallena. It was lovely, everybody there was very relax. I would recommend this hostel if you are backpacking through Panama and central America. The only thing I found a bit annoying was that the birds wake you up at 6-7am in the morning. Although, if you sleep with earplugs you have nothing to...

I stayed at Mamallena in Bocas, so I immediately booked again when I went to Boquete. Staff were extremely helpful and lovely. But it was the atmosphere that was a totally different feel at this hostel. Kids are allowed and it's also very loud with the band at the restaurant next door. Super loud music playing until Midnight. Would have...

Tipical backpacker hostel. Rooms very clean but only cold water for shower. Good infrastructure in order to prepare your own pancake in the morning. Sometimes very busy in the kitchen. Due to the vulcano trips it can be noisy in the night, since they start at midnight or early in the morning Possible to book all kinds of tours

Clean and safe, right in the centre of town. Lovely staff and very good tours. Some of the dorms get a lot of noise from a restaurant next door, where a band seems to be playing every night but they stop before midnight and it's generaly bareable.

We arrived in Boquete pretty late so we were relieved that the way to the hostel was like 2min. Mamallena is located right next to the central parque which is convenient if you want to stroll around town on daytime, unfortunately that makes it quite noisy at night. The hostel is mice though, clean, well organized and pancake breakfast is...

I stayed at Mamallena for two nights in a private room with a private bath. It was very basic, but well kept. If it ever gets really hot in Boquete then it would have been uncomfortable in the room as there was no fan and only one small window, but when I visited, it was breezy and cool. The common...

Great location, of course. Not the cheapest, but considering the prime location, not expensive either. They let us leave our bags there, when we arrived and left straight for volcan baru with the transport they organize. Afterwards we stayed one night in a dorm. It was basic and small, but the common areas were spacious and nice. It was clean...

A very clean, friendly and sociably hostel. We had a private room that was large, clean, but rather basic. A "self make" breakfast is available each morning with delicious pancakes. The kitchen is probably the most well equipped and well sized of any hostel in Central America. Only slight negative point was the cost of tours, however this was similar...

I spent two nights here in the private rooms. The rooms were clean, had a decent sized bathroom and a nice set up. The pancakes were delicious and there was a great setup for the common areas. The location was hard to beat - it's right in the middle of town. I took a bus from David and you could...
