Having spent some time in Panama City two months earlier, I was extremely pleased with the differences i experienced in David. In the capital I paid $150 for three nights in a clean but modest hotel. At Puerta del Sol I found a well-located hotel in a well-maintained older building with all the facilities I required in top-notch condition at...

It's a nice place, well located. Parking spots are tight but there was always one available. We arrived half hour earlier than check-in time and our room was ready in barely 10 minutes. Card key is a little tricky sometimes, you'll need to insert and remove twice in order to open. Room was very neat. Daily room service. We had...

I stayed there three nights to budget a little and then moved to a better hotel for the amenities. This one does not have many. A little noisy but not bad. The restaurant was excellent, well priced and the waiters were friendly and professional. The other staff in the lobby were not terribly friendly and generally only greeted you if...

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Puerto del Sol for about a week. This hotel was very clean and quiet, but not luxurious. The bed was good, the room was large, and showers were hot. Most of the staff members speak only a tiny bit of English. However, when we were there, they tried to have one person on...

January 2010 1 night US$35/night Old hotel in center of town, clean but spariingly furnished, no windows to outside just a building, noisy tile floors in hall and rooms. Adjacent restaurant with inexpensive food, formally set tables and waiters, however, fluorescent lights made it glaringly cold and lacking ambiance.

I upgraded to this hotel from the nearby hotel Alcala because I wanted a room with wifi and safe (Alcala has no safe). Unfortunately, the safe turned out to be in reception (small individual drawer-type safe) not very practical and too small for a netbook. Most annoying is that wifi access is via a username & password valid for 4...

This is a perfectly adequate place to stay, but that is the best that can be said. Internet access uses a four-hour code instead of WPA or WPA2; there is no encryption, and so there is no protection for your data. We tried to go into the restaurant and there was a very strong smell of solvent like you might...

Never known friendlier people, better service before. Beer in the fridge for $1.50! Room service! $30/night! I read about someone complaining about the internet, I get unlimited internet access, I do have to enter a new code every 4 hrs., not a problem for me. Restaurant & Gloria is an asset to this hotel!

What accolades can I truly add that's not already been said about Hotel Puerta del Sol. I enjoyed my one-week stay. The staff made me feel at home; every one I had contact with was pleasant, courteous, and still conducted him/herself in a professional manner. My room had a airconditioning unit with a TV and a desk, and a clean,...
