We arrived at Kapievi just prior to the border shut downs in Peru, 2nd week of March 2020. Andres quickly helped us to find local excursions that suited our interests, and set us up with an awesome tour guide, Guillermo, who drove us around PM for the 3 days we were there. Food - awesome. Anthony and the other cooks were awesome. Homecooked dinners, all vegetarian food like i have never had before. So delicious, and price comparable or less to eating out in town. Room - cute! We definitely had some welcome (treefrog) and unwelcome (spiders and something that resembled a grasshopper) guests, which is fine considering where we were! The bathroom was so neat! Really well designed. Location - Perfect. Not in town, but not too far out of town. Maybe a 10 minute drive. Probably wouldnt want to walk, but you could easily bicycle and the boys had bikes you could borrow. Guillermo was flexible to go where we wanted, and also gave us a history of the town. All in all, heat, humidity, bugs aside, we really enjoyed our time at Kapievi and in PM. 10/10 would come again. Also. We visited the amazon sanctuary and butterfly museum. Both cool locations. Would have liked to do more tours (Kapievi definitely has lots of options and tour guides they are in contact with) but due to our short stay, my friends sunburn, and the corona scare we didnt get a chance to do some of the more interesting boating and forest trek tours.

For several rounds of field-work for my current research in Puerto Maldonado, I was privileged to stay repeatedly at Kapievi, and it's been some of the most memorable experiences. All the houses are close to a beautifully designed nature environment, green everywhere, and the whole atmosphere is both relaxing and entertaining at same time. The people staying there, either for very short or longer periods, are extremely friendly and interesting, and you can't do anything else than to feel at home - like a very cool home in that case. On top of that, the nature of Kapievi can bring up options of personalised service with the staff, applicable to the purpose and plans of each visit - tourism, work, leisure. Anthony, who is probably one of the most charismatic persons you could ever meet, and the rest of the staff made our stay truly special every single time. Definitely recommended.

Kapievi was a great place to stay and I really enjoyed my 3 nights there. My room was very clean, the food was GREAT and very fresh, I’ll dare to say the best in all puerto Maldonado however only available for guests. Staff is very helpful and Anthony and Andre speak English very well to help and guide you into any doubt. I recommend coordinating with them taxi pick up from airport and also the tours. Kapievi is very well located, only 10-15 minutes from town center which is very convenient in case you need to buy something and also for tours pick up. A great place to stay if you would like to experience the amazon, yet be close to the city. Wifi is good in case you need to connect (as I did my first day) however the good vibe of the jungle and the staff will make you forgot all your daily stress.

Kapievi is such a beautiful place, jungle just out of town, very accesible and a peaceful oasis, Anthony is the best host and made us feel at home at all times, there is a great vibe in Kapievi and you just feel like part of a family straight away, many open spaces to enjoy the green surroundings, the family bungalow we stayed at was beautiful, very spacious and comfortable, there were little monkeys in the trees outside and lots of cool little frogs, Anthony is a chef and he cooks the best vegetarian meals, the food was really delicious!! The yoga maloca is surrounded by trees and it’s the perfect environment to relax and take it all in. I spent my birthday there and it was really and unforgettable experience, Anthony prepared the most delicious food for my family and friends and his hospitality and kindness really made my day ☺️ I recommend staying at beautiful Kapievi 100 % , can’t wait to go back one day soon!!

Stayed here for five nights and had the most wonderful experience. The lodge is situated just outside the town, easily accessible by taxi and motokar (three wheeled taxi popular in Puerto Maldonado). They arranged for airport pickups, and all excursions (through Green House Tambopata) which were all great! The first thing you notice upon arrival is the serenity of the entire campus. Check-in takes place in the most informal and inviting setting of their open air kitchen. The room was well appointed with all amenities one would expect. The morning breakfasts, included in the price, comprised of bowl full of local fruits, pitcher of local fruit juices, white and whole grain breads, avocados, tomatoes with vinegar, eggs (if you like), butter, coffee, tea, etc. They also accommodate lunch and dinner requests, which I highly recommend. The host is a Lima trained chef, who has also worked in Melbourne, and brings in refreshing creativity using local ingredients in his preparations. And if you're lucky, there will be more friends and other travelers to enjoy dinner with, which makes it a family-dinner away from home! We had a very rewarding experience and highly recommend! Thank you Anthony and Justin!
