if you are looking for an affordable with homey experience and a great location close to top tourist attractions in the city, Inn Rocio for me is the best. But to tell you frankly, this place is OLD and requires renovation but that's fine for me. I really feel that i am sleeping in my own home in cebu.. if you are not a choosy one for as long as you have the play to stay with.. then Choose Inn Rocio...

Don't book this hotel if you are choosy instead book the expensive ones with great amenities, nice building and etc... :-)

I have been staying in Inn Rocio for two decades, and I will always come back. Though it's not luxurious and quite old, it's one of the very few that gives one the "Baguio" feeling. I am from Baguio and I don't get that feeling anymore, except when I'm in Inn Rocio.

Towels, linens and beds are basic, so with the room furnishings. But you're paying a very low rate which already includes breakfast so don't complain. The staff is OK, Manang Del has been there ever since I started checking in. The newer ones are also very accomodating.

It always feels good to hang out in the restaurant and admire the pine tree framed view, except when you look towards the direction of SM and see that misplaced structure on top of the hill, then you appreciate being in Inn Rocio.

We always stay at this place whenever we are in baguio. This time i had the worst time. We were suppose to check out at 12pm we called the hotel at 10am only to know that our room has been checked out already because someone will occupy it. Good thing we had already put our things in the car! Place is great! Service is bad! Plus the old lady receptionist! The nerves!

After 15 years, we decided to have a summer getaway in Baguio. Since our last stay was 15 summers ago, a lot of new places in Baguio already came up. My family and I decided to research for hotels we could stay at. We needed 3 rooms, because my sisters and our families were going. I provided my mom a list of some possible lodging in Baguio. Our first option was the Bloomfield hotel. However, on our dates of April 24-26, it didn't have availability. We didn't want to walk-in though, for fear that we may not be able to get all 3 rooms in one hotel. Needless to say, my mom booked us at Inn Rocio. She was ecstatic that we only needed to pay 4,500 pesos per night for a condo type with 2 bedrooms, living room, and kitchen. We checked pictures on their website and some blogs, and it looked okay. But lo and behold, it was not! When we arrived at almost 1pm, the unit was not ready yet. We were advised to go back at 2pm. So we went out for lunch. We went back at almost 3pm. The guard paved the way. We had to go down 2 floors (like going down the basement. The hallways were dark. The children were complaining. When we got to the unit, it was so bland. And it looked so old. Still, we stayed. The next morning, only my dad was able to get a hot shower. The rest of us had to get like 2-3 minute shower only because there was no more hot water. And in Baguio, believe me, you'd need hot water.
I am writing this review, so that future travelers are aware of the present state of this inn. Probably, stick to booking their rooms, situated at the main building. Never, ever book their condo units, or you're in for a major disappointment.
Good points: Staff was helpful; Location was in great proximity to downtown Baguio and almost all attractions.
Bad points: Old, unmaintained facilities; Hot water not available all the time.

Inn Rocio is situated 5 minutes uphill from Burnham park. It is one of the most affordable budget hotel in town, which is why we booked here at the first place. The room was very spacious.

Hot shower is always available and the TV contains most of the mainstream channels if you are coming from the west (e.g. BBC, CNN). If you are not too demanding then this inn would be a good fit. We stayed here for two nights and one of the main concerns we had was hygiene. We had cockroaches and lizards running around the room and we had to catch the former for both nights. The towels had orange stain in them, which is a sign that they are not bleached.

Breakfast is included with options of Filipino breakfast (Tocino, Tapas, and Longanisa) and American breakfast. Coffee is also provided. We tried all of them and they were average.

It was a very unassuming hotel along Kisad Road, an easy ten minute walk to SM Baguio. The hotel has a homey atmosphere , it was a former vacation house of a famous family and now converted to a budget hotel. I love the coffee shop/restaurant with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee while absorbing that Baguio feeling looking out on the coffee shop's wide glass windows. The food is great and quite reasonable, one need not go out to have breakfast. The rooms are clean and the linens are quite decent, there are rooms for a big family and small rooms fro one or two persons. Overall, I give credit to the staff, they are very courteous, well trained and accommodating.

Revisiting the inn was heart breaking. It is still redolent of Baguio in the seventies and eighties but sadly, the hotel structure has been left to rot. The place is generally still homey and relaxing but now more damp, dark and very old and crumbling.

The old manager and his wife were more attuned to the needs of guests and tried hard to make the place very picture pretty and perky. The new administration seems absent a lot and just lets the housekeepers run the place. The result is apparent. Nearly everything looks old, outdated and worn out.

We've been staying in this inn every December for the past 6 or 7 years now. Yes, it's true, it needs to be refurbished but if you are looking for a homey atmosphere, then this is it! It is small, clean and the staff are polite and accommodating.

I remember in my college days my Social Orientation teacher told us that the first thing you should look for if you are searching for a boarding house is cleanliness.....of the kitchen and the toilets because this is a reflection of how clean the whole place is. OK, the rooms may not be 5 or even 4 star but I peeped into the kitchen and it was really clean. This goes to show that they regularly clean what matters most. For this reason alone, I would highly recommend Inn Rocio. You may be disappointed at first, but its warmth kind of grows on you. As the days go by, you start wanting to come back to it after a whole day in the city. Oh and they serve home cooked meals also.

Travelled here October 2011.

This here is a quaint, simple, and pleasant place. I figured that this place has a lot of history (Panagbenga contest winner i think?) It's oldschool and nostalgic. In the cool climate of baguio, this place offers the warmth, charm and atmosphere that any visitor will want.

Staff is warm and very accomodating. Very friendly. Manang Fely gave the impression of a motherly figure and really puts you at ease when you first enter inn rocio.

For the price, it is VERY cheap. But the place is nowhere near "cheap". Sure it's old, but well taken care of. For me, best value for money. There are no modern amenities like what other hotels offer (eg pool, gym, spa, etc.) But if you're in baguio these amenities should not be your priority. Don't expect high-end luxury. A pleasant surprise was that there was Wifi on our room! And it was fast! Maybe because nobody else was using their wifi because there were only few rooms and few guests.

Food is not one of their strengths as the free breakfast is not as good as what other hotels have. But with all the restos around baguio that you can go to who wants to eat at a hotel? (Except Forest House, their food is great)

Proximity to those restaurants in Baguio is an advantage also. Walking distance to Burnham park.

A badside is that at the time of our stay there there was a construction of some building a few meters behind inn rocio although we didnt hear anything at night, it was still peaceful.

Overall, if you want an authentic taste of baguio and do not want to stay on those "urban" and new or modern hotels, this is the place to go. We were very satisfied and will come back here again some time.

This place is a walking distance to Burnham park, Session road and a few minutes walk to SM Baguio. If you don't want to bring your car, you can easily get a taxi cab coz this is just along the road. Or you may request the receptionist to call a taxi if you have a knee problem coz the hotel is located uphill.
The staffs are very accommodating. We arrived 4:30am, too early for our 1pm check-in. They let us stay until until the sun rise and the we request if we can leave our bags and be back before our check in time. And they say Yes You may po 😊. They are very kind.
When we check our room (family room), it was clean and big for 4pax. The comfort/bath room is big with hot/cold water and bidet. The room has a master bedroom with queen size bed and it has 3 single beds with extra beds underneath, mini living room, a big walkin closet.
We book our 3 days stay at travelbook.com with free breakfast😊.
So what can I ask for more.

So sorry for the very late reply. The walk from Inn Rocio to Burnham is about 15 minutes. About the same length of time if you walk going to the Public Market from the inn. Whenever I stay at Inn Rocio, I just walk going to Session or the church, or SM.
