I must admit, I was dubious about visiting Manila. Everyone who I told before we set off put doubts in my mind. And then we arrived to the Holiday Inn and Suites, Makati. From the moment we arrived at the main entrance, met by smiling, happy, inviting (but thorough) security guards and a sniffer dog (a first for me) I felt my shoulders begin to drop. The lifts are slow, unfortunately, but that’s the only downside in my opinion. The receptionist was so helpful but I forget her name now. Managed to help us get an early check in of 10am as we had just got off a night flight. Then directed us to the main breakfast room for the most fantastic breakfast buffet I’ve ever seen! The head chef even gave me a personal guided tour of the breakfast sections! The wait staff were all so very attentive and we were very impressed. After breakfast we sat in the coffee lounge - but didn’t order anything as we were so full from breakfast - and that wasn’t a problem whatsoever either. We felt very comfortable sitting, working on the laptop in our scruffy travelling clothes until our room was ready.
When our room was ready we were both very impressed with the standard - the bathroom was great, the bed was so comfortable and the pillows of different softnesses! Excellent.
So to the lounge…we upgraded our booking at a great value rate, so that we could work in an appropriate environment, which included breakfast, afternoon tea and evening buffet (with a different specialty cocktail each night or wine/beer). The lounge idea was good, but the reality was so much better! The food is lovely, the ambiance perfect, but it’s the people that really make it shine. Shery was so helpful in all sorts of ways (no cheese requests, room key reprogramming, queries about the lounge etc, Shery was brilliant) and then we met Stevene. Aww what can I say about Stevene? He is like your best friend even though you only just met. Like a cheeky little brother. He can’t possibly do any more to help and is just fabulous. Alongside Gezel and Aya they make a wonderful team. When we come back to Manila we will definitely be booking the Holiday Inn & Suites Makati and booking the executive lounge. We are part of the family now!

Location - It is in the heart of the commercial / business district in Makati. It is close to key areas - Malls (where you can buy local products too), Bank, Drug Stores, Quality Restaurants and Food Chains, Grocery and a ride away to Makati Medical Center (H). Beauty Salons, Coffee Shops, Church are nearby too.
If you are into walking/jogging provided it is not raining, it is a walking distance to Greenbelt Park / Ayala Triangle.
Room - deluxe is their basic room, but it is a good room with enough floor area even if you request for folding bed. Working table, with lamp, is also provided. If you are on a business trip or even on a stay cation and you will be out most of the day, the room is good for a quality rest. Pillows - you may ask for soft / firm.
Toiletries, they provide the basics, but if you failed to bring in the regular items needed, the housekeeping team may be able to provide you.
Amenities - they have a gym, pool (with life guards), spa / sauna all in the same floor.
Team: Front desk team -- expect a line during check in / out time especially if they are close to 100% occupancy. I was in line this weekend, when Stevene passed by and asked me if someone has assisted me already. He attended to my check in and made the check - in process smooth. The personal touch of his service is commendable.
Housekeeping team: - Gilbert M****nua/nwa - who during my 3 nights stay have reached out if I needed anything. As I don't usually ask housekeeping to clean up the room during my stay, unless it is 5 nights and more, he checks on any cleaning / items that I needed. I also appreciate that he does it before 10 am. I am a morning person and clean up of my trash and replenishment of things that I needed before 930 is appreciated. If by any chance he sees me at the hallway, he asks if there's anything else that I needed. - Jayvee - who I asked for a few items when I checked in, gladly provided what I needed.

This was our very first stay at the Holiday Inn, Makati, and from the moment we set foot onto the curb we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes. Our porters really made us feel like they were waiting there just for us. Every one of the service staff took pride in their duties. Upon check-in, we were assisted by “NONA” who went out of her way to make us feel like one of the family. She provided pertinent information about the area, provided speedy processing, and even had a room readily available despite arriving ahead of schedule. Her warm smile and personality assured us that our stay will be a memorable one.
The room itself was a beauty! It is spacious, clean, and designed for optimum relaxation. While we only had a view of the surrounding rooftops and partial view of the “K-Park” below, the location of the hotel itself is the draw! The hotel is situated in the heart of multiple eating areas and major shopping locations such as the SM Mall, GLORIETTA Mall, and nearby GreenBelt shopping.

This is a fantastic hotel and a most enjoyable place to stay in Makati City. We enjoyed our beautifully appointed room that included the buffet breakfast and lounge access. The lounge access included afternoon tea and light snacks, as well as an evening reception with excellent appetizers and light dinner items.
The staff at the hotel were exceptional. All staff members that we encountered were very hard-working and were so hospitable. They continually asked if we were enjoying our stay and wondered if they could do anything for us.
We visited the pool on the 19th floor for recreation. It was so nice.....warm water and attractive places to sit down and relax, along with a beautiful view of Makati.
We ate breakfast everyday of our stay at the Flavors Restaurant and also enjoyed one dinner buffet there. The food was so good and plentiful. It is a variety of Filipino-inspired items blended with some Indian foods and American fare. Service in the restaurant was exceptional in all respects. The head chef is named Chef Freddie. Extraordinary cook and he loves to come out of the kitchen to visit with guests.
We met so many nice employees that it is hard to list all of them here. Nevertheless, here are a few shout-outs for some great people: in the club lounge, Gizelle, Kyla, Maricel, and Gryn. At the breakfast in Flavors Restaurant, Christian, CJ, Jolina, and Jicel. At the dinner buffet, Aldrin. And last but not least, Food and Beverage Director Matt.
Thank you to all at the hotel for making us feel welcome and the beautiful experience we had while staying there. We look forward to coming back again.

While we did not request for an early check-in, we were able to avail an early check-in. Ly at Reception was friendly and accommodating. The welcome cookies and welcome school supplies for my kid were much aapreciated. I feel valued as an IHG One Rewards member. The staff at the Club Lounge during cocktails (Stevene, Edrex, Maricel, and Kath) were likewise friendly and accommodating. They made sure my wine glass was refilled with my favorite Yellow Tail Sauvignon Blanc in a timely manner. The food was great too. I especially liked the Pork Spring Rolls and Sausages. At the breakfast buffet, the food choices were also great. I liked the Pork Tapa, Baked Tuna with Black Bean Sauce, and the Crispy Bacon, of course. My wife enjoyed her Champorado and Taho. And my kid now learned how to order Beef Noodle Soup from the Noodles Station and Omelet from the Egg Station.

Its always a great time spending staycations when you are greeted and serviced by Rose, Gezel, Lyka and Edrex. During our stay, they were full-on support to make everything extraordinarily the best. Its holy week and you can imagine how it must be difficult to service lounge with plenty of guests who find it difficult to find a restaurant. They did a fantastic job servicing everyone with so much happy faces and superb service despite how much crowd there is at the hotel. No one felt less important than the other. My family will always remember them to be the best at what they do and we hope to come back and see them time and time again.
The housekeeping person at the 14th floor was also the best. He greeted everyone with a cheerful smile and offer if we needed anything from us, like replenishing our water bottles for the day, the best time to come back to clean the room and ask what else we would want to make our stay the best. He is the main man at the 14th floor and we want to make sure he gets recognized for a tough job he does to make the rooms extra squeaky clean and comfortable.

I loved that the hotel was clean, there was minimal noise level inside the rooms, the quickness of checking in and out and the competitive rate among other hotels in the vicinity. Only a few concerns from me - the pillows labeled "soft" and "firm" should be actually soft and firm. Some staff could use a bit more training on customer service. During a busy breakfast time, service became a bit slow and frazzled. If these issues are addressed, the hotel could truly live up to a five-star rating.

Staying at the Holiday Inn Suites in Makati was a phenomenal experience! The hotel’s location is impressive, as it is just a few steps away from Glorietta, SM, Landmark, Rustan’s, and Greenbelt. With plenty of dining options nearby, my family had no trouble finding places that suited everyone’s tastes, making exploration in the area effortless.
From the moment we arrived, the staff, especially Dom from the hotel's transport service, greeted us warmly at the airport and made us feel instantly at home. I would like to give special recognition to the team members who made our 10-member family’s 8-day stay so memorable.
To start each day, we dined at The Flavor Restaurant, which offers a varied menu catering to both Filipino and international guests. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Edward, Annie, and Tine for taking such great care of us, and a special thanks to Hermie, who helped arrange our holiday dining experience for all 10 of us.
Another highlight was the tea time and cocktail hour at the hotel’s Executive Lounge. The delicious drinks, assorted snacks, and excellent service created a vibrant atmosphere where my family could unwind after a busy day of sightseeing. A special shout-out goes to the fantastic team: Edcel, Edrex, Steven, Kyla, Louise, and Gizelle.
Finally, I want to acknowledge Nica, Jean, and Francis from housekeeping, who kept our room immaculate and well supplied with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The housekeeping team worked tirelessly to maintain the cleanliness and coziness of our room, making it a perfect sanctuary after our daily explorations.
In summary, our stay centered around comfort and exceptional service. We left feeling truly valued and can’t wait to return. A huge thank you to the fantastic team at Holiday Inn Suites for contributing to our unforgettable family reunion memories in 2024!
