Gym is closed on Sundays and all holidays. On average gym is open about 5 days a week. Jogging outside is not an option due to construction and pedestrian traffic.
The same short music loop is played continuous in public areas including lobby and restaurant.
Bathroom drain is defective. A number of lights in the hotel are out of service.
Do not look for napkins and towels in public bathrooms.
Pool was closed. Bar was closed.
Breakfast is ok but do not look for knife for butter. Eggs were not always available. Better options outside of the hotel.
Coffee in restaurant, weak.
Room was not cleaned every day and towels were sometimes taken or removed from hotel room and not replaced.
Bar soap is problematic.

It's always an interesting experience to sit back and watch how business owners fail to succeed through extreme penny pinching and indifference to their customers needs.
Crown Regency is a text book example. A seemingly good building in a great location in the middle of Cebu. The rooms have been nicely upgraded and the internet is good. Now comes the penny pinching. The water for the shower is luke warm in the day time and then cold in the evening due to 'problems'. The TV doesn't work as the remote control has no batteries, and still doesn't after 5 days and 8 requests. The towels are thread bare and full of holes. The sheets aren't much better. The hotel breakfast buffet is one of the worst I've every experienced, and is expensive by local standards. The poor cleaning staff are run off their feet, getting the room cleaned daily was an impossible request, so was getting more than one sachet of coffee per day. The staff are generally pleasant and the hotel manager was very professional - obviously she's between a rock and a hard place.
Why are the owners running their business into the ground ? They should just employ professional managers and let them get on with it. Do they not see the abysmal reviews and not think they should take action ?

My disappointment started before I even checked in. On their Agoda site under their property policy they had airport transfers at 1200 PHP but when I tried to book the pick up from airport they said it would cost 2600 PHP.
I referred them to their property policy on the Agoda site and they acknowledged that the price stated was incorrect but they would not honour what they advertised. (They have since amended the price on that site but I have a screen shot of the original amount that was there before they changed it)
So I arranged with another company for the airport transfer which cost a little over 1500 PHP which was way less than what they wanted to charge me.
Clearly customer service and satisfaction was not a priority for them.
The hotel itself is not as appealing as they make it look, but that's neither here nor there. What is astounding to me as a very widely travelled individual. was the disparity between what they charge and what you actually get which was not at all value for money.
Their lack of what you would normally expect from any standard hotel, like at least a spare roll of toilet paper in case you run out during the night, or a box of kleenex tissues in the room, a closet to hang your clothes in as opposed to a clothes rail with only three hangers, none of the cable tv channels you would expect were connected, like CNN or BBC or Discovery Channel, Cinemax or a decent movie channel at least.
The room itself is spacious and reasonably clean but the towels are unpleasant as they are very old and grey.
This is definitely not a hotel you would stay more than as a transit or overnighter, not for a few days or more. The staff are efficient enough but not overly friendly or pleasant but otherwise satisfactory. Would not consider returning to this hotel in my future visits to Cebu.

Me and my friends stayed in Crowne Regency Cebu, the old fashioned hotel amazed me with the room and amenities, the location is very strategic, they have a parking space but the building and parking looks very old, they have a casino on the top, they have an elevator and the establishment is near to a Robinsons mall and fast food chains, the pool is amazing, but because of our busy schedule we were not able to make use of their pool, staff is very helpful too. i think the rate of the hotel is just fair in the market. In my humble opinion a Casino is a bad entertainment.

We checked in last Jan 27-28 and were accommodated by Ms. Rame and Ms. Oñez. Initially, our room had problems (ac wasn’t functioning well, bathroom drain is clogged, and was emitting a foul smell. I immediately contacted the front desk and both were kind enough to transfer us to another room. Mr. Jovan from housekeeping also attended to our bathroom needs since the amenities weren’t replenished. Overall, our stay was made more memorable because of these people who took care of us. I commend all the hardwork they did given that all our problems happened late at night as we checked in almost past midnight already. Massive thanks and salute to these people!

We tried to book and pay for our 4 night stay online, but our payment kept getting rejected for no reason. Eventually, we were advised that the only way we could pay, was to pay via a third party called, ‘Maya’. We received a receipt for payment, but never received confirmation of our booking. We tried many times to contact them via phone and email, but they never replied.
Eventually, when we arrived in the Philippines, we went to the hotel to check if we had a reservation there. The front desk advised that we didn’t have one there. They gave us a number to contact Maya and finally managed to get a hold of them to find out why we never received confirmation (which we still don’t have), we were advised by them that our reservation is actually in their hotel, but in a different city. Definitely not accidentally booked there as I lived in the Philippines most of my life.
Now because we never received confirmation, we had no choice other than to book another hotel as we are travelling with a toddler and didn’t want to risk not having anywhere to stay. We explained all of this to Crown Regency Bookings, only to be told that they would not refund our money. They said they could transfer our reservation to the other hotel, but we would have to pay considerably more to do this.
We are so upset and angry about their unethical behaviour. We will never stay here again. Also, the rooms are old and grubby and definitely don’t look like the ones shown on their website. I don’t understand how they have a four star rating.
We do not recommend this place whatsoever. Zero stars (the site forces you to put at least one, sadly)

We would like to clarify that you have actually reviewed this property located in Fuente which is actually completely unrelated to the properties you had intended to and mistakenly booked at. First of all we would like to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with your booking process. We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention, and we want to address the concerns you raised. After a careful investigation and review with the concerned departments, it is found that you had booked a different property for your next date of stay- Dec. 17-21. Instead of booking at Mactan (your intended hotel), you had booked at our Guadalupe hotel. We have 3 properties across Cebu and Mactan so it's understandable to have made such a mistake while booking. However, we ask that you kindly understand there are rate differences between the 3 properties. You were charged for the Guadalupe hotel rates and if you wish to move to Mactan, there is a rate difference that must be paid. This is in no way unethical. If you mistakenly book another property and would like to be moved to another property it only makes sense to pay for the rate difference. This property on TripAdvisor you reviewed is also neither of the properties mentioned above. With regards to the refund, perhaps it is best if we look at the terms and conditions / cancellation policy. We apologize for the payment issues you experienced. There are our times our third party payment gateway partners experience credit card incompatibility with users. Rest assured, Maya (Paymaya) is actually a very reputable payment gateway in the Philippines. We have also checked on the confirmation booking that you did not receive and the allegations that our team did not respond to you despite numerous attempts to reach us. Per investigation with our Reservartions team, there was a glitch on our website which is why the confirmation was not sent automatically. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. However, our Reservations Department sent you your confirmation letter via email and received no reply. Agoda has falsely advertised this property. I have been searching for almost an hour to try and speak to someone on your so called 24/7 customer service with no luck!
I have been very dissatisfied with our stay at Crown Regency. This hotel is dead!! None of the amenities mentioned on your site are operational, it’s old and lifeless and seems like has been abandoned for years. Breakfast was horrible! And all good were gone by the time we went. It was 9:20 am the first morning then at 9:00am the second morning. The service is till 10am but when we went there was no food left! No bread, fruits, nothing! The staff gave us some scraps from their kitchen. Second morning, staff saved us some poor looking bread but we couldn’t finish our breakfast as there was a huge rat!! It ran across the floor right in front of me. I am appalled at the horrible state of this property and more so disappointed at Agoda for falsely advertising the property. It’s been very stressful for us all. The towels in the room are grey from being old and worn out, they look filthy!! No toiletries provided just some harsh soap. I want Agoda to compensate us for this horrible experience. I will be writing a public review. I am now concerned what the next two hotels will be like given that we booked them all through Agoda.

This place is filthy top to bottom! The front desk staff are rude, and useless at best. This hotel is currently under going renovations, which where not disclosed during booking or we would never have booked here.
We asked for a room not on the floor under renovations due to health issues from the dust and noise, but front desk staff refused to move us or make any compensations for the level of dirt and filth from renovations. But also housekeeping needs better training, rooms where never properly cleaned one in two weeks of staying at this dump.
Rooms are filthy, bathrooms have water stains all over the shower stall glass is covered in soap scum, the room its self is dated to not believe what you see for pics... they are faked or at best only one or two rooms might look like the pics, all others have old falling apart furniture, bare wires connecting TV and lamps, poor internet.
The breakfast is total waste of most peoples time, geared towards Asian with no international breakfast choices at buffett, food is tastless and mostly cold anyway. The only positive for our entire stay was a waiter at the Buffett named "James"
An amazing young man, very polite and helpful if your stuck at this hotel look for James he will brighten your day. If not for him this stay would have been a total loss.

Apparently it is common practice in the Philippines for hotels to hyper inflate their quoted rack rate which they then discount by a huge margin to suck in the unwary traveller. Now this does happen elsewhere but in the Philippines it seems to have been taken to a new level. This hotel is run down and tired. That would have probably been acceptable given the price I paid but during the 5 days I stayed there I had to actually seek out the housekeeping staff to get them to make up the room. This made our stay uncomfortable to say the least. I enquired at the front desk as to why this might be so, they sheepishly told me that the operators would spend no money on maintenance nor even provide adequate staffing. This is a case not of "get what you pay for" but rather get much less.
