My first time in the Philippines but had done my research and knew what I was booking. The property itself, clean well maintained, basic (but this is where your research comes in) if you are looking for all the amenities, sorry to disappoint, if its a comfortable bed, a roof over your head and a view to die for with shops nearby, you've found your location.
John and Ace were fantastic, we liaised with them and they came up trumps every time. Went whale watching and for that alone it's worth it.
So the final question, would I return? My answer would be, yes I would.

We came all the way from Bantayan Island and came to this place very late in the evening, around 9 pm. We were referred to L&M Hearthstones Lodge by a family friend and not expecting anything special. But to our surprise, Ms Myra ( the owner if I remember right) accommodated us personally. Since we came in late not having a decent lunch and no dinner at all (It took us a 9 hr trip straight from Bantayan to Cebu to Oslob), she instructed Kuya Dodo to accompany us to the town center to have dinner. That's what I call going the extra mile.
Talking about the place, our room is very spacious with 2 queen beds, wi-fi, cool air-conditioning, hot and cold shower, toiletries and other basic things. A quiet place with a homy ambiance. Beautifully landscaped garden in front of the beach. We came to Oslob to see the whalesharks and before we went to the area, we had a free breakfast which is not part of our package. Kuya Dodo, our service, made life easier for us as our guide. He took care of everything, from our gears for whaleshark watching, our boat going to Sumilon Island, trip to Tumalog Falls and a nice restaurant to have our lunch by the beach. We wish to explore more of this southern part of Cebu but our time was limited. Maybe a good reason to come back.

The place has a beautiful landscaped garden and a picturesque view of the sea being in beach front location. They also have a swing dining table near the seaside. The staff are very accommodating and honest. The room is tidy and complete. They provided drinking water, insect repellent device, some toiletries (soap and shampoo) and even plug adapter. The place is very serene and lovely, we felt so comfortable and relaxed. They have fast wifi connection, though signal gets weaker inside the rooms. They have hot showers, but water supply got very weak in the morning, good thing they stored water on a large tub in the bathroom. They also have bidet which is not common on lodges. Though they are 30minutes away from the Whale Shark area, they offer a transpo + guide package for Oslob tour (Whale Shark, Tumalog Falls, Heritage Park) which is very cheap so you don't need to worry. And before we left, they even gave us a maja blanca (local corn pudding) which is so delicious! Thank you so much <3

We really enjoyed our stay here, too bad we only stayed for a night. We are recommending this place to all of our friends.

We stayed last september 27,2017, experience was superb. Very nice owner since the first day i've inquired regarding reservations and very helpful staff. Our flight to cebu got delayed, so our travel time has been adjusted, we arrived at the lodge around 10pm,still they waited for us, accomodated us with a warming and welcoming smile. Place is very clean, and super comfy. Sadly we had to leave early for our tour the next day, but we will definitely come back and will stay long. And for our tour guide, also highly recommended is "kuya jon", we've learned a lot from him, and you'll definitely enjoy your tour around cebu. Kudos to these people!

we been there in march they where very friendly when we arrived the places look lovely but they where building a reception with restaurant and pool because there was no restaurant that was the main problem you have to drive to the town or search for a restaurant somewhere but the owner said the restaurant wil be finished soon...so i gues now beeing september it wil be finished.
The rooms are good and clean and and when comming outside there is a beautiful garden with view on the sea the service is good its more a family atmosfer your more then a costumer so i liked this very mutch...the breakfast was good but simple but its normal for the price
They also help you go watch the whale watching if you like no problem and there is a store in front where you can buy foods or drinks and others so that is handy too...

This is the place to go if want to go to oslob...

We love the place! If we will be given a chance to go back in Oslob we will still stay here. The place is very neat, they have a small pool, they have a bar, you can also ask them to cook for you and you can also play beach volleyball. Yup, they're beside the beach.

What a fantastic place to stay. The people were so friendly and it has easily been the nicest place we have stayed in the Philippines! They organised whale sharks for us and even helped us get into town and back on a budget. Could not recommend enough, thank you for having us :)

Wow this is the best place we stayed in the Phillipines so far.

First of all, we arrived a day late because we couldn't get a ferry over from bohol until the day after our booking. We sent Myra an email and she promptly put our mind at ease saying it was fine.

When we got here the room wasn't ready so we got upgraded straight away.

The place is lovely, it has a great sea view as well as gardens which are especially delightful once lit up at night.

You can book any tours that you are interested in from the guest house such as waterfall tours or of course the whale watching. We opted to do it ourselves and hire a scooter from next door for 500 pesos for the day which is actually not a bad price for the area.

The guest house is about 10 minutes from the next big town so bear that in mind. You can easily get a tricycle there for 10 pesos each. The guest house is also connected to the main bus routes to cebu so it's all good.

Lastly, Myra said it was fine for us to leave our stuff in the room whilst we went whale watching and visited the waterfalls near by. They even let us have a shower when we got back!

Highly recommended,

Simon

Stayed there for 1 night last October 2015. They are all accommodating even the owner. We enjoyed not only the place but the way they help us in our tour. And the price is very low. 19 pax for 2 rooms is equals to P150.00+ each because they offer extra bed.

Our stay at L&M was very great. The place' ambiance was relaxing. We stayed there recently for a night, Sept. 23, 2017. We took the Yellow Room. They were very accommodating and prices are very affordable. We highly recommend this if you wish to stay in South Cebu. 😊

The bus drivers/conductors are familiar with the place. It's just along the highway and has a sign that can easily be seen. hope this helps.
