The place is located on an old office building along Lacson St. We went here during this year's Masskara Festival and strategically, the hotel is near the plaza where all the events took place and Manokan Country (best go to place for chicken inasal). However, there is no elevator and you have to climb 2 stories to reach the rooms. The food was great though and cheap! They have good cooks :) Rooms are spacious and has a stable wi-fi. This is not a trendy hotel but very ideal for those who will be out the whole day and want a good rest.
We booked to Ong Bun months ago before the Masskara Festival but due to 'cleanliness', we decided to look for other place to stay. After our Iloilo- Guimaras tour, we walked in at the Middle Town Inn, fortunately there were still 2 more rooms available. Staff are very friendly, accommodating, they even suggested to check the room first if we will like it before we book and pay. Rooms are spacious and clean. Bathroom and water is also clean. It is conveniently located near the plaza, SM Mall, lacson street, market, cathedral. There is a restaurant on the second floor. We ordered our dinner and breakfast and the food were good. On our first night, we were given 2 rooms and the staff said they will call us if there will be another vacant room to accommodate us on the next day. We were all busy watching the Masskara event and didn't noticed that there were many missed calls from the staff of the hotel regarding room availability. Nobody cancelled room reservation for that day so we only have 1 room for 9 of us. We were planning that half of us will need to find another place to stay for the night. The staff were kind to allow us to stay in 1 room which is only good for 2-3 persons. We were told that we can request for additional mattress, pillows and blankets (additional P300 for the 4 mattress, P250 for the pillows and blankets). The roomboy was very kind to double the mattress, because he said the mattress is thin and too low to lay down to(without extra charge). The front desk staff even suggested places we can go to. We are like sardines in the room but we sleep very well. The following day, they advised us that we can leave all our baggage in the front desk while doing shopping and waiting for our trip back to Manila. The staff also arranged a van service going to the airport. Everybody deserves a big TIP :D…
the place used to be the old internal revenue office so the front desk is located right by the tiny space by the entrance door. rooms are ok for a 10-25 usd a night. if uoure the type of traveller who spends most of the day outside your hotel room then this joint will do if you only need a place to take a bath and where you can leave your things. rooms contain small flat screen tv, aircon and towel and soap.it is conveniently located at the downtown atea on the intersection of lacson st where some of the best restaurants, clubs and bars are located and san juan st where you can find sm mall, plaza and the cathedral
When I told the cabbie where we going he said "Oh, the old BIR office." When we got there I think it may be true. It looked really small on the website and it was smaller in person. And, yes it looks like an internal revenue office. A small front desk, then each floor has a big lobby and hallways full of individual rooms. Kind of like a waiting area and rows of offices. But each room has its own aircon and CR (comfort room – restroom). So no complaints here. This joint may be small but it is clean, has good aircon, is easy walking distance from Lagoon Park, the zoo, and the mall. Jeepneys and taxis right outside the door. Generally a good location. My room was completely interior. At first I was not pleased about a view of the hallway but later I realized that in interior room is very quiet and very dark - both important to me when sleeping. Small front desk, and quick check-in. Good aircon and, for the Philippines, a nice bathroom. They do have a restaurant but we did not use it so no comment. For $25 a night - what do you want? Nothing fancy, no pool, no gym, but not priced for that either. We spent 2 nights there and would easily stay there again.…
I booked a De Luxe room at this inn. Floor is covered with linoleum, bed mattress is foam. Bed linens are stained and looked dirty. Even smelled a bit awful. Lots of ants crawling on the wall and small cockroaches coming out from every corner every now and then. Front office substitutes lacked training. One allowed an unwanted visitor to get into the hotel. Found people knocking on the door of my room without my permission. Most of the staff though are accommodating. The biggest problem of this inn is its worn-down and substandard facilities. At night time, loud karaoke music coming from outside. Wooden partitions for each room did not help much in sleep quality. Can hear voices filtering through the walls. Terrible ordeal!
