First time I stayed here was in August 2011. I chose it then because of its close proximity to Calea, and I was a pastry arts student during that time. It was excellent value for money; not as expensive as the main hotel, but the room was in a very good condition, SULIT talaga! This year, I went back to Bacolod with my family and stayed at L'Fisher Chalet again. Customer service was on point. The friendly staff, even the security guards, always greeted guests with a smile. The hotel is, of course, a bit older but still in good condition. Great options in the breakfast buffet. It may be best to eat at 8 a.m. because when we did a 9 a.m. breakfast on a Sunday, they were running low on some food items and it took time for kitchen to replenish. They also ran low on coffee cups and it took a while for F&B to keep up. Just be patient and understanding, peak hours are really challenging. Must try restaurants / pastry shops / cafes within walking distance to the hotel: Felicia's (ensaymada) Calea (white chocolate cheesecake) 21 (batchoy, blue marlin, bibingka, chocolate cake) Cafe Bob's Bongbong's (for pasalubong shopping) Chicken House (which I liked better than Aida's)…
I have stayed at the Main Hotel many times before and mostly enjoyed. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have experienced and I often compare it to other hotels, and it almost always surpasses many, many other venues. But.... given the size of the property and the relative good run of business, I am not sensing that they are re-investing in their own past positive performance, especially at the Chalet portion of the property. Big mistake. Seda Capitol is most likely the next place I will stay. I'm not finding Big Things wrong in my room, but the overall attention to detail is very lacking - the curtains have cigarette burn holes, the aircon looks grimy and is not properly sealed from the outside, there's obvious accumulations of dust remaining from hurried room cleanups, painted walls have blemishes that have never been addressed, there are flies in the room, one pillow per bed? Sheesh. Hallway carpets are worn, clocks are wrong, To me, this is purely a management issue - they need to take a serious look at their budgets and a calendar and get moving. Disappointing your guests is a sure path to failure, especially as newer properties open nearby that offer fresh, clean enticements. Staff a bit lackadaisical... when I arrive I'm hauling my own luggage to the front desk from the taxi... it's a big FU of the guest. Based on what you're paying here, its hard to say that you won't be just a little disappointed, perhaps not a lot, but I'm not sure if they are just contented to rest on their laurels. Team L'Fischer, is that the case? Is "average" acceptable?…
It was so wonderful to stay in your hotel The staff to security is always there to greet a guest and welcome them with open arms. I like it when they greet you and put their hands in their chest. Thats a great gesture! Also the breakfast buffet is amazing! And Housekeeping 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 spotless! Hope to stay again in your hotel.
Booked a standard room for a night, and I guess you get what you pay for since it's the cheaper version of the l'fisher hotel? Aircon was a bit old and dilapidated but still functions well. Location was awesome, it's across Calea, with Felicia's and Capriccioso on its sides, and also nearby Bongbong's for pasalubongs. The breakfast buffet was two thumbs up! You'll have it at L'Fisher Hotel's restaurant, the hotel smells a bit musty though. Loved the crispy bacon, danggit, and french toast.
Perceived as the poor cousin to its mother hotel. Breakfast is served at mother hotel resto. Wifi is fast but spotty. FO needs customer service updates. Rooms are good though : right size, cool, working hot shower, but no bidet.
