Detailed Reviews
Plus:
We received rooms that looked to the garden/restaurant terrasse.
The mattress was pleasant but there was only one big pillow.
The restaurant: we ate there both evenings and the food was delicious. If you are there, trying "papanasi" (a dessert) is a must.
Minus:
The hotel is located on a busy road. Even at night and even in rooms that do not look to the road, there is traffic noise.
The room is very small. We were on the 2nd floor and the ceiling was sloping and in both the room and the bathroom it was in places very low. Watch your head!
For the two days we received two very small packed soaps and shower gels - this was insufficient.
The restaurant: the breakfast does not worth the price. The omelette is small, you have to wait a lot, and the rest which is given (a butter, a jam and a coffee) is forgettable and definitely does not worth 30 RON. Better eat somewhere else or buy something in a nearby supermarket for the morning. (relatively big shop in Tureni and Ceanu Mic).

The place is in a good location to visit the salt mines and the rooms are clean. But be cautious with the staff. Our receptionist/waitress who seemed to be super friendly, tried to rip us off a bit, later in the restaurant.
After taking our order, she came back and informed us about the foods/drinks that they did not have in the restaurant, and we replaced those. But later, even the things they did not have, were added to the bill. About 30€ of things they did not have :D So after a long talk, they gave us the correct bill.
Even if the place itself is ok, those kinds of things can ruin your evening. So pay in advance when ordering and keep an eye on the bills.

Hello,
We booked this hotel on the go, meaning we were already on the road when we searched the web and found this place. Price was appealing, but don't be fooled: the rooms are 8/10 clean, bathroom is OK, but the shower is absolutely horrible. Youust stand on sandstone, so if you don't have any slippers you might end up getting a cold. There is no cabin, just a side door protecting the sink area from the water. It's pretty cold, so if you are lookong for a warm tidy place, this is not it.
You only get 10 TV stations, out of which you have 5 working properly and 1 with a black screen, nothing international.
Also, the hotel has the backyard under construction, so the view is "strange".
The staff is OK, but the reception is in te kitchen area, and when we arrived at around 23:30, we noticed that several tables were still having plates with food leftovers while nobody was sitting at any of these tables.
Overall not horrifying, but don't take rooms facing the road, you don't get any sleep.
It's about 30 km away from Cluj, so this is more suitable if you want to spend the night here in order to visit the Turda Salt Mine. Othervise it's a NO GO.

Is a good place to stay if you visit the Salt Mine of Turda. My room was big, clean and value the money, is not expensive.
What I liked the most is the restaurant which is called Paprika..they serve very good romanian food.

The hotel is really a motel situated about 30 kilometres outside of Cluj-Napoca but it is only a short drive to the city on a good road or will cost about 50 Lei in a taxi. From the airport it is a little more at about 80 lei and beware of the rip off taxis there who will try and charge a lot more.
The hotel is a basic hotel but very comfortable with good hot showers, surprisingly comfortable beds, but it can be noisy as with many continental motel/hotels as shoes/heels on tiled hard floors make a lot of noise and any noise can appear louder due to the echo caused. If you have a room on the front, it may also be noisy due to the road but the double glazing cuts most sounds.
The hotel is attached to an excellent local restaurant which is part of the motel complex. It is slightly confusing checking in as this is actually done in the restaurant as the hotel's main entrance in closed. The food here is good hearty fare and the beer and wine list is extensive and cheap. Breakfast is also provided in the restaurant and all in all the venue provides excellent value for money and offers the opportunity to explore the local countryside with hills and fishing close by.
Great value for money but should be avoided if you want to be in the heart of Cluj-Napoca. However, if you want friendly staff and a romanian welcome, then this is a good stop-off.

Tasty food, friendly staff, quiet place in spite of being located near the busy European route E 60. The town of Cluj-Napoca is just a short ride away (half an hour). Also close to the Salt Mine and the amazing Turda Gorge.

Situated two thirds of the way between the airport and the city center (a 16 lei taxi fare from the airport). All of the staff is extreemly kind and helpful. Restaurant and breakfast are good and rooms are very spacious. The air-conditioning was a bit weak but kept me cool enough. The free wifi was excellent for me continue working from my room. It is a short bus ride to the city center and a 20 minute walk to a very modern mall.

We were luky to find a "last minute" room in Paradis Hotel, but sleeping there has been one of the worst experiences ever!
Our room was on the main street to Cluj Napoca, with traffic all over the day and the night. Moreover, there were no funs or air conditioned and the room was relly hot. You faced a dilemma! If you open the window, you can't sleep because of the noise from the street, but, at least, you don't have the impression to be in a oven. Otherwise, if you keep the window closed, you can sleep because of silence, but the heath is unbearable!
One last piece of advice! Don't take a shpwer between 10.30 pm and 11 pm because there is no pressure and have a shower can be a problem!
I have to say that,a t least, it is cheap and the rooms are clean.
