Very strange place with weird people. No answer to our email, no agreed room, they have changed our room for 4 times during 4 days! Weird people use to live there permanently. The only positive thing, it was cheap and it had a good location. But I cannot reccommend this hostel. Sorry.

The staff is very impolite. When checking in the host at the reception didn't look at us or replied and ignored us. Afterwards he showed us the room while sighting with every step. The hostel has a weird atmosphere, see earlier review. Would advise you to nook elsewhere!

Bear Hostel, the worst first impression of Moscow one can get. There was a weird vibe in the hostel from the start. The staff was not very welcoming when we walked in. It seemed as if they didn’t expect us and asked us to wait, probably to quickly clean the room. After about 15 minutes two guys showed us our...

I am a regular customer of Buddy Bear hostels' and I would like to recommend that hostel chain to all of you who are familiar with the peculiarities of the hostel experience and want to make the best of their stay in Moscow. We stayed 2 nights at bear hostel and booked through www.booking.com. Weird atmosphere here, there are many local people who stay long term, they stared at every traveler who stay here for short-term.[especially the staff here with turkish look with black hair, even an asian mongolian look cleaner] We have a chat with other traveler such as germany traveler who...

This hostel was recommended to us for its great location, which it is. The staff were very helpful, booking our train tickets online to St Petes after our stay and in general being very helpful. Rooms were comfortable and the kitchen is massive/well stocked. Biggest let down were the long term residents. The cleaning lady would clean amazingly only for...

I went on a Russian tour and we stayed in this hostel for 2 nights in a 4-bunkbed room. I don't know how much we had to pay for a night here so I'll just compare to my other hostel experiences and it's one of my least favourite. The linen is dark (because it's old I guess), and very itchy...

We chose this hostel because of the price and the good reviews. It was certainly cheap, but disappointing. My friends and me got a really tiny room for 6 people with no windows so it was impossible to air out the room and it felt quite oppressive. Also, we had a "gym" right in in front of our room so...

As for me, it was overcrowded (keeping in mind, that the receptionist said, it was half-full, it's hard to imagine, what happens there, when it's full). The walls are so thin, that you can here everything outside. The linen is synthetic, there are pellets everywhere on it. The linen wasn't fresh at my arrival, there were smbd's hairs on it....

For a place located at the center of Moscow. The price is just ridiculously low.Although the rooms are quite small, they're very clean. You'll find janitors cleaning round the clock. They have a Very friendly atmosphere and the administrators are Very helpful. The kitchen is fully equipped and you can cook anytime you want. All round it was a pleasant...

Staying in Arbat

Neighbourhood Profile
Crowds of tourists, both local and international take in Old Arbat and its modern and gigantic peer – New Arbat. One reason visitors keep coming is no doubt Konstantin Melnikov’s famous private house, now open to the public and worthy of a visit. After exploring one of the oldest parts of Moscow, avoid the crowds and turn to the side streets and boulevards where calmness and affordable food is plentiful.
