We stayed here this week, and were generally disappointed. The ground floor of the hotel is ornate and fabulous, but our floor was dingy and smelly. The carpets looked like they had been cleaned badly, and were a trip hazard- one of the maids went flying over one rucked up area whilst I was there. The room was pleasant enough,...

Awfull and very poor service! I would never suggest my friends or colleagues visiting this place. Not only the stuff is very rude and not welcoming, but also quite inappropriate arrogant and not helpful at all. I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and the hotels is ok. But would never suggest anyone to eat at the restaurant! The...

We did a lot of research before this trip. So glad we settled on the Savoy. Lovely staff and service, beautiful room, excellent location and introduction to Moscow. We would stay here next time. Left each morning to the Bolshoi, Kremlin, Basils, GUM, and easy walk to the area of Pushkinskaya, Cafe Pushkin (hotel offered to make a reservation for...

Recently we had five days in Moscow. We wanted to stay centrally in an hotel that was able to cater for a family of 5. Boy, did we get lucky. The hotel was everything we wanted in a great location and we even had a balcony! there was only one in the hotel so that was a bonus. Nice breakfast,...

We stayed for over a week in a pretty room (no view however; windows faced the back and side of the hotel) with two beds and a nice size bathroom. The hotel's location was great -- near many major sites (Red Square, Kremlin, Bolshoi Theater, etc.) and shops. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and spoke good English. Perhaps...

We are a family of four and booked a junior suite at this hotel. Large room with a queen bed and two sofas that each converted to single beds so that worked out great. Huge bathroom. Nice turn of the century detail in the room, halls, staircases and breakfast room. Excellent service and concierge. Great location. Only minor problem was...

Stayed at the Savoy for 5 nights at the end of June 2013.As a first time vistor to Moscow I found the location excellent-close to the Red Square, Kremlin, Bolshoi, theatre district, Tsverskaya and most attractions. The underground is also across the road.I found Ilhya at the reception very pleasant and he spoke English fluently. There is so much to see...

In Moscow, for centrally located 5 star hotels you can select Western style (Hyatt or Ritz) or Russian style (Metropole). The problem with the Metropole is that it has become tatty and needs doing up. But after 10 years of exploring, I recently stumbled on the Savoy. Just up the road and off the main streets, this is a classically...

Stayed for 3 nites June 22nd thru the 25th. Had emailed asking for early check in which was acknowledged and provided. A great benefit after a 10 hour direct flight. As others have said, the rooms are OK but a bit tired. i found the bathroom nice with heated stone floor and towel rack. I don't like hand held shower...

Travellingpud (below) gives an excellent review of the physical properties, room amenities etc. of the hotel. I agree entirely and could have just cut and paste it all across to my own review. Our room was a junior suite and was large and well maintained. No view to speak of (top of a neighbouring roof) but this is a city...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Savoy hotel is a proper place for travelers who put at a high value service and comfort. It is a historical hotel located in the very heart of Moscow, within a walking distance from the major tourist attractions, the Kremlin, Red Square, the Bolshoi and Maly Theaters.
