If you would like to explore Moscow city center by feet, Marco Polo Presnia hotel is a great choice. Hotel is located in the very heart of old Moscow. 3 minutes walk to Patriarshiye Prudy (with a nice skating ring in winter time), 10 minutes walk to Tverskaya street and Tverskoy Boulevard, 20-30 minutes walk to Red Square and Arbat....

we have stayed 5 nights in a Jane Suite in the hotel and we can only say: it looks old but it is a pleasant place to stay. The people behind the front desk are friendly as the people at breakfast are. The breakfast had enough choice and was from good quality. Overall my wife and myself we quite happy...

The Marco Polo Hotel is in a great location whether you want to visit all the tourist attractions or just grab a coffee and sit in a park and people watch. The Hotel staff were friendly and offered help locating places to visit. Plenty of cafes and bars in the area, and a big lake and park to relax in...

Not knowing what to expect, because of the intimidation of having to arrange for a safe and reputable destination in applying for the visa, I looked for a solidly respectable hotel near the heart of Moscow, within easy walking distance of the Kremlin. There had been some difficulty in arranging for the reservation due to the time difference in the...

Good hotel. It's located in a beautiful neighborhood near the Patriarch' Ponds. There are plenty of restaurants, bakeries and shops around that area. The rooms are decent, with good light. The breakfast was nice, with a good selection of food. This hotel is about 5 blocks from the metro station , which is a big plus. Moscow is very expensive,...

The room was decent, the breakfast was adequate, the location is good but customer service is non-existant. The check-in process for a group of 20 was nearly 2 hours. Promises were made by the reception staff but were never kept. Management was surly and unfriendly. The restaurant and the bar were slow. Also, in the lobby bar/restaurant at least 2...

Just stayed in the hotel. Not very good impression: all the rooms were firstly overbooked and I received my room only after 5PM, after waiting in the lobby for two hours. Secondly the breakfast was very modest, in quality, quantity and service. And we have been waiting for a taxi for 55 minutes. Otherwise the room was perfect, as well...

Solid business hotel. Older, retro interior design but well kept. I stayed there on business for 6 nights. Elevator is about 10 stairs up from the lobby requiring assistance if you have a lot of luggage. My room was of adequate size with a king bed and an entry area with plenty of room for luggage and the closet. High...

Staying in Patriarch Ponds

Neighbourhood Profile
Patriarch Ponds
When you need to hide from the city’s noise and traffic but don’t want to stroll too far, Patriarch Ponds is the place to be. Calm water, friendly swans and ducks with beautiful early 20th century architecture in the background make this neighborhood a place you’ll never want to leave. Besides stylish bars and restaurants scattered in the streets around the pond, you’ll be able to enjoy museum life from modern art to a former private apartment of Mikhail Bulgakov. As most of the businesses are open late, stop for a cocktail and then stroll by the pond to rent a boat and row yourself to the middle of the “bowl” as the locals call it.
