Where to begin. It's a lovely lobby. Lots of restaurants within. An Intourist desk adjacent to the reception desk. Room clean, bed comfortable. Bath amenities fine. Free Wifi works in the room. And then.... No bell service. No maps of the area available in any language. Difficult to obtain information and refusal to provide contracted services until "pushed". Reminds one... More

it's surprising, but there is nothing to say in favor of this hotel apart from the spectacular views from the windows in any direction. 'soviet' hospitality pay forward concept, small stinky rooms, awful breakfast, deaf-noise dancing boobies dinners and so on... for nostalgie only since there are more presentable lodging options in the Haba.

The rooms are very small if you have luggage. It was nicely appointed and within walking distance of downtown. We could see the Amur River and beyond that to China. Since we were leaving early in the morning, they brought our "lunch boxes" to us the night before. We did not try the restaurant, The wi-fi worked fine.

This is a typical Soviet-style hotel that has somehow lasted into the post-Soviet era. The rooms are small, many of them smell of cigarette smoke even though they are meant to be non-smoking, bathrooms are poky with few amenities. While the staff are friendly this is definitely not a deluxe hotel. And the breakfast buffet leaves a lot to be... More

So the Intourist might be slightly Soviet in it's style but the view over the Amur River more than makes up for it. It is located by a park, opposite a museum and a short walk to the centre, cafes and restaurants. The rooms were equipped with a TV, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and free wifi. The staff... More

This is a typical soviet hotel. With old soviet style service, the rooms are from 1940's, most people working the are about to retire, the rooms are very small and bathrooms even smaller. Surprisingly they have a very good Korean restaurant in the basement which is quiet good and serve decent food, the breakfast is ok typical Russian dishes, the... More

This hotel is old and has steadfastly held on to many of the ideals of a former era. The rooms, while clean, are basic and often smell of smoke which is engrained in the walls and carpet. The wifi is unreliable in the guest rooms - you will have more success sitting in the elevator hall (there are chairs) or... More

“Get a view of the river, if you can.”

“The only reason I didn't give this hotel the worst possible rating is that the rooms themselves are fairly nice, a comfortable bed, good clean bath, and they offer some lovely views. However, if you're a non-smoker you'll need to order a non-smoking room well in advance, and when you arrive you're going to have to argue with them to get it. It might help if you bring the printed out reservation where it says you ordered a non-smoking room, but that's no guarantee. Also, the neighbors are often quite noisy and the music from the upstairs club can be heard as far down as the 7th floor until close to 6am.”
