Location excellent coming from the Moscow train - just a short walk. Pavement entrance to hotel rather off-putting but once up to the hotel internal door on the first floor everything very clean and welcoming. Receptionist very friendly and helpful and spoke good English. The room was spacious, bed wide and comfortable, very little traffic noise and a quiet night.... More

This might look like an exaggeration at first it's not ! This is certainly a nice place with comfortable and clean rooms, central location, nice breakfast with blinis :) but the best thing was it's staff. Ever smiling and greeting you always ready to help and it all looked so genuine. I missed my train back to Moscow and with... More

I stayed in this hotel last October (2013) on my trip to my homeland from Australia, it was my first visit to Saint Petersburg and prior to booking this hotel I have read many reviews on here and booking.com about hotels in the city. I wanted a good hotel in the city centre at a good price. I lived in... More

Onceyou find this place, it doesn't look like much... but once inside it's more than adequate! The entrance is on a side street off Nevsky Prospekt, so keep an eye out for it! Once we found it, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel comfortable. It's a small hotel of only 5 rooms I think, but it has everything... More

We stayed 3 nights at Filippov 1. It is pretty basic for a hotel but in terms of value for money in St Petersburg it was great. The location is fantastic on Nevsky Prospect and near the metro. There are also a few good restaurant options near by. The rooms were a decent size and the beds are really comfortable.... More

My friend and I stayed in room 204 for two nights. We arrived rather early and had to leave the luggage there and went back there after 14.00. Spacious, clean and well furnished room at a very reasonable rate. Breakfast selection is limited but quite adequate and tasty. The hotel could be missed as the only sign was the name... More

We stayed in Fillipov for 5 nights in October based on the reviews. The tiny hotel (5 rooms) is located on the second floor of an old building, just a couple of blocks from the railway station. The receptions are very helpful and friendly. Their service is very good, which is a plus to the whole experience. The room itself... More

Rooms were separate and had large beds, a small tv (didn't open it), wardrobe with hangers and two bedside tables. Bathroom wad basic and had towels, shampoo, soap and hair dryer supplied. Safety box was behind reception. Breakfast was minibuffet style with... More

Yet another ex communal apartment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communal_apartment) converted to mini-hotel - Nevsky is full of them. The shower operates in 'ouch' mode - suddenly your carefully crafted warm water can turn to bowling hot or freezing cold in a second. The acoustics are great, you can hear conversations from all the other 5 rooms, and from the reception. Otherwise good, though!... More
