Clean, serene and off the beaten path. Room is spacious, airy and lots of amenities are provided. Getting here requires a car (or other private transportation). The rooms are accessed via many steps, so not accessible. Nevertheless, if you're in the area, it is worth consideration.

The hotel is very nice but quite far from the market. Beautiful scenery of the village could be seen from the balcony. The room was very clean and all facilities were in good condition. Breakfast was basic and fine. Free wifi was provided but unfortunately the connection in room was not successful since we stayed at underground floor. We had... More

Arriving after dark, with fresh snow on the ground, the Baikalskie Terema (BT) looks like a little slice of heaven. On three occasions, we have occupied the entire hotel. Which means somebody, usually me, gets the worst of the worst rooms. Beds that are indescribably terrible. WiFi only in the lobby area right across from the registration desk. Unless the... More

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel. The rooms are a little run down and beds are not very comfortable. The house keeper kept turning off the heating (electric ) so we were cold at night - did not always notice that the plug was out. Service for breakfast is nice but very slow - we almost missed breakfast on... More

It's so odd, I was recommended this hotel by a travel agent in Irkutsk and when I looked online was horrified by the awful reviews. So much so that we almost cancelled the booking and looked elsewhere. I'm do glad we didn't as this was one of the best hotel stays we've had in our three-month travels. We were collected... More

Stayed here in winter to do a snowmobile trip across the lake, so it was very quiet low season. The staff were lovely and helped me out with my awkward (and almost nonexistent) Russian. My room was big but had two tiny single beds, which was sort of odd. I felt a bit goldilocks-ish. I had a nice view and... More

We wanted to have a double bed, but instead we got to single persons beds. The mattrasses where more springs then anything else. The bathroom was really dirthy with a lot of fungus. The reception speaks English but isn't customer orientated. They are more busy with watching there laptop then helping you. Breakfast is at 09.00 and exist out of... More

The driveway to the hotel was an indication of what was in store! The person at reception could not have cared less whether we stayed or not...& we didn't !!!! We were shown room 15! The carpet was filthy in the room & the hallway. The bed? Had to be seen to be believed ...sunken & looked like something from... More

This is a small hotel made of timber. We seemed to be the only guests. We found this a charming hotel with a very friendly receptionist who spoke excellent English. The balcony offered a distant view of Lake Baikal. The rooms were comfortable, but the beds a little narrow. We had an evening meal in the restaurant, which was excellent.... More

Nice traditionally built wooden hotel in this small town that was marginally operational while we were there during the off-season (January). Breakfast was good, with eggs prepared to order. Lunch and dinner became somewhat repetitious due to the unavailability of most fish items on the menu. Internet marginal but working except that the local provider apparently blocks Roadrunner - our... More
