We were surprised by the neatness and overall beauty of this hotel. Stayed two nights, room was air conditioned, breakfast was good. Walking distance from many attractions; Pearl river ferry, shopping and the Shamian parks.

Its located in best area. choose west building for silence and good breakfast. its near two metro station. Rooftop pool is great and rooms are very clean with every morning cleaning service. Laundry prices are reasonable and hotel staffs speak English well.
The hotel is large, well positioned, with an air of slightly faded European grandeur that rather suits Shamian Do. The balcony room I had in the West Building was large and well appointed.

Subway is very cheap and convenient but quite a long walk if you have luggage. Probably best to get a taxi. Make sure you have the name of the hotel in Chinese characters to show the driver. Cabs are relatively cheap.
