I booked this hostel in advance but when we arrived they didn't have/find our reservation. In reception they don't speak good english so there were some troubles in communication when we tried to explain to them that we have reservation and that we also have confirmation. After 15 minutes they gave us room we wanted. We stayed in private room...

Good location to visit the lake. However, the location means that all the restaurant nearby are a bit expensive. The cheapest meal I could get was around 30-35 RMB. Expect 50 RMB. It was (of course) crowded, but at least the room I was in had only 4 beds, which was nice. No Internet in the rooms though, so you...

Stayed one night with friends in April 2015. Located right on West Lake with easy taxi access everywhere. Rooms are tiny, cozy, and with interesting designs. This is nicer than many hostels in Europe or the USA. There is a good restaurant downstairs. Hostel library has a small but decent collection of books. The major cons: - People over 40...

I just came back from this hostel and I am here to leave some info on how to get there. First, the location is amazing and that alone is worth the money. I booked a private room and it was fine, however my bathroom sink and shower were clogged. It's NOT easy to find the hostel, especially if you arrive...

Despite the location and reasonable price for the area, this was the worst, rudest and most unhelpful customer service I have ever experienced. And I was not alone. I booked three nights here and notified the hostel (twice) that I will arrive around midnight, asking them to make sure the room is kept for me. When I arrived at 1am...

I spent two nights in a private twin room at this hostel and there was plenty of room for the two of us. Its name is a bit confusing because it seams to be in transition from "Mingtown Hangzhou International Youth Hostel" to just "Hangzhou International Youth Hostel". We arrived around 8:30 PM and there was a queue at the...

Yes, there are better hostels out there. But as the previous review mentions, this place does the job. Staff is great, especially at the front desk. Rooms are mediocre and the shared ones could be better. At the end of the day, this is sort of the experience you should be expecting when you are paying ¥50 a night. A...

As I say in the title, this place do the job. Nothing to complain at all, rooms are basic but clean, it is located in the walking district just beside the main tourist street. The only down side is that it doesn't feel like a youth hostel, probably because of the restaurant/common room. Yet, I would totally recommend.

The hostel is good but for their restaurant , they don't have more than 30% of their menu available. I tried it for dinner and for breakfast. Avoid it. For the hostel: this is well located, the rooms are not expensive, some rooms have a view on the lake

I was absolutely appalled by this place. I've stayed in a lot of hostels around China, for a lot let money, but this was disgusting. I booked a twin room at quite a high price and was very upset to be given a room that was filthy and mouldy. The air in the room was fetid, the walls were covered...
