Our group of 8 American teachers stayed here for 2 weeks while teaching at a nearby school. The hotel met all of our needs. We had AC in a hot summer, decent showers and Western beds. The floor in my room was damaged by water and the bug mirror over the sink was missing and all I had was a small round mirror. One of the small mirrors over the bed was covered by a piece of stryofoam so the room has seen better days. There was a faint smell of cigarette smoke. And the hallways had a strange smell at times. The location was great in some ways. An outlet mall is literally outside the back door. Great places to eat and walk or run in the XiXi Wetlands. Only downside is that there is no metro stop nearby. The staff only spoke Chinese but was unfailingly kind and helped us in any way they could. It is not the biggest quality hotel by American standards and I suspect average by Chinese standards. …

There is very little to recommend this hotel being so close to Xixi Wetlands is really about it The rooms are tired though nicely laid out. Staff disinterested The included Breakfast not great - the breakfast room is dark and located in the hotel's underground carpark. If you are staying you would be better off buying breakfast from the small restaurant next door, stuffed savoury pancakes or a wonton soup.

Just in summary: - Smell of raw sewage/toilet in room -Smell of old food/mold in lift -Food area located near what looks like dirty old cellar -Wifi did not work -Check in took 25 minutes at least -Rising damp in room -Power plugs did not work The worst thing was the overall lack of hygene and the smell. It was at times unbearable. I have no ill will towards the owners or operators, however I hope that they can rectify this soon as it is not adequate accomodation, even for the cheap price.

Taxi driver confused about address. The hotel staff is very helpful, but their English is very poor. All hotel staff must learn English in China. Room has window. Entry to the hotel is from back side. Nearby is a big botanical park. I will stay here again for the price, which is a good offer, when I visit Hangzhou for two nights.

I chose this hotel for the sole reason that it is within 5 min walking distance to Hangzhou West Bus Station, where I wanted to catch the early morning 8am long distance bus to Mt. Huangshan. I didn't have to worry about not being able to get a taxi during peak hours. Foreigners like us typically have difficulty crossing roads in china as there's no pedestrian traffic lights. But there's no such problem staying at Brook Hotel. Walking from the hotel to Hangzhou West Bus Station is easy - there is an underpass with escalators to cross the main road. The choice of hotel worked for my purpose. However, the standard rooms and toilet are quite cramped and a little run down. My room was full of cigarette smoke. The toilet was quite old.

This is a very good 2.5 star hotel - it is located in the Westbrook Resort area, about 200 metres from an entrance of the park. There are quite a number of popular restaurants within 150 metres of the hotel lobby. Checked out 12 Sep after four nights in a double room - it was smallish although very comfortable - the bed was great had excellent sleep each night. Breakfast was included - the choices were adequate for me - the freshly cooked eggs were just right. The hotel is over two levels - it has long corridors - some open patios to enjoy the outdoors - air-conditioning in the room was excellent - the temperature was adjustable which is far better than most Chinese Hotels. Initially I was allocated a loft room with the bed up steep and narrow stairs - unless you are a mountain climber try a double room. I enjoyed my stay - staff had minimal English which was fine as managers are there to help if needed. It's ok...recommended - it is a good value hotel.…

The room we book have a sofa at living room, and the bed is on upstairs. The service is good. Everything is clean. Recommended to stay here. Location is near to the wetland. Not really close to the west lake. We book here for a night as it near to the west bus station and we can hoop on the bus to tunxi huangshan.

Used Hotwire for this property and while Hotwire indicated it was in the "West Lake" area not even close -- its the Wetlands. The hotel is connected to a shopping mall but it was almost completely empty at night -- weird and a little creepy. The Hotel itself was OK, a little run-down; rust or mold or something weird growing on the tile in the bathroom. While I liked that the TV had a wide variety of English language movies, the breakfast was horrid -- worst of my 14 day stay in China. Check-in was easy and the agents helpful. Overall, this one was a miss for me especially since I wanted West Lake not the Wetlands.

The room is small but big enough to spend 2 or 3 days. Fantastic location, right inside the park, to explore the wetlands just around the corner. You can walk or cycle there. Bicycles are available at the bus station (5 minutes walking from hotel). Cycling path to wetlands entrance just 1 min from hotel. There are restaurants here, the one next door serves the best pizza like bread and noodle soup, if that is not your favourite there is a kind of mall just in front of the hotel where they have thai, vegetarian and coffee shops. Read my review on the thai and vegetarian food here on the restaurant section. Walking to local shops, more restaurants and mall is about 20 to 30 minutes. Although part is on a large road, we enjoyed the walk and ride there, we did both to go for sushi and to the cinema. Staff is extremely helpful and nice but speaks virtually no English. The next hotel - Sheraton - has a fantastic but expensive SPA. Buses to the city centre are either one just 1 min walk from the hotel, at the end of the parking lot, or a couple of streets from the hotel. The information desk inside the park can help by giving you directions to which buses. This is conveniently located by Starbucks.…

Located in Commercial St. in Xixi Wetland Park. A good affordable hotel for travelers who want to explore Wetland Park as well as for business. Hotel is situated in the heart of the Commercial Street walking distance to many local restaurants such as Grandma, Jura and some international restaurant such as La Predera and Mango Thai as well as the bar street. This hotel is highly recommended if you are not looking for luxury, just a clean and comfortable room.
