This hotel has a great location, right by the river. The room was OK, plenty of space for one, clean and the bathroom has everything you could need. The bed was comfortable. There was free tea and coffee available all day in the lobby as well as in the room. The staff didn't interact with guests. The breakfast didn't have... More

The room next to us is occupied by a family with young children. When the toddler was crying we realised that the rooms had good sound insulation. Baby was loud but we could hardly hear it. After staying at Singapore hotels in the past year where this was a major issue (except for 5-star), we were appreciative of how the... More

Great location from train station and to streetcar stop that will take you anywhere you need to go. Room is typical for Japan, small with hard bed, smells faintly of cigarette smoke despite non-smoking room, tiny bathroom. Breakfast was pretty good, though! Needs an update in decor. Staff friendly but with limited English. Cannot check in before 3pm but they... More

Pleasant staff and a varied breakfast menu, but the hotels Italian theme is very tired/distressed. Small and poorly furnished, the room had a plastic cupboard type toilet/showeroom that some would find awkward to step into (a little like stepping through a hatch foaming on a ship).

Well, me with two of my friends stayed in this hotel for one night and it was fine. The price was bit at the upper end. Enjoyed a good breakfast in the morning. View is good if your room is river side.

My daughter and I didn't have a booking when we arrived in Hiroshima. After visiting a couple of hotels we called into the Regalo and was greeted by 3 English speaking receptionists. They were so bright and bubbly. We were immediately shown to a large room with two large single beds on a non smoking floor. We had a winch... More

The hotel offered free breakfast, with both Japanese and American choices. In addition, it was very convenient to the streetcar/light rail public transportation system. However, the walls were incredibly thin, making for a loud stay; the hallway and room smelled of cigarette smoking (even though we'd booked a non-smoking room); and the bed was uncomfortable, with a hard mattress and... Regalo is a nice, affordable budget hotel in Hiroshima. Stayed in large double room (one of the largest we've had in Japan) facing river -- very pleasant Plus: About 10 minute walk from train station/nightlife district/shopping area and 15 minutes to Peace Park (or grab the tram right around the corner); staff was very attentive (although did not speak a... We stayed in the Regalo in 2004 and have booked in for 2005. It is located between the city centre and train station, clean and comfortable and well priced. Staff wer friendly and attentive. The restaurant downstairs is also highly recommended, Italian but with a japanese touch ( I have never seen spagetti eaten with chopsticks before!).

I stayed in this hotel during a visit to Hiroshima in late May of 2005. The hotel is centrally located and it was a comfortable walk to the main attractions of Hiroshima such as the Peace Memorial and the Art Museum and Gardens. The room I stayed had a nice view of the river. The room was spacious, the bedsheets... More
