Really great value. Located right next to a subway station, this place is great. There are heaps of convenience stores and restaurants nearby. The room was surprisingly spacious. The hotel also has a coin laundry on the bottom floor, which came in extremely handy.

The room is very clean , nice house keeping and environment. It is very closed to the subway GoJo. The supermarket is near the hotel and we go there every day for dinner. I recommend the apartment with kitchen and every thing seems nice.

If you are going to Kyoto this is a great place to stay. Nice king size beds, big rooms and lovely service. There are washing facilities that we took full use of and the internet is good enough for you to stream a movie.

My husband and I stayed here for a week and loved the room we had. It was spacious for our items and nice to come back to after a busy day out. It was situated well with train stations, but also for walking anywhere. Would recommend this hotel to others easily.

The subway entrance is just outside the hotel. And Kyoto train station is within 20 minutes of walking. Spacious room comparing to the same price level hotel at Kyoto. With a little sofa/desk and working table area. Even I don't use the microwave oven, it's still a plus if you want to try delicious Japanese deli.

What a delight to check in to our studio room after being in tiny rooms that barely fit 2 people and 2 suitcases for 2 weeks! I even managed a bath I could lay in! The staff are excellent and extremely helpful and the rooms are so spacey and have english channels on tv for when you feel like having...

We stayed in as a group of family of 18 people, who wants to visit Mount Fuji, that's why we choose Shizuoka and stayed in this hotel because it is close to JR Station and malls, so lot's of food choices for us. The room is nice and quite huge for Japanese standard. Although it is located on the main street...

Great location beside Gojo subway. There is a convenience store (7-11) across the street and it is walking distance to attractions such as Nishiki market. There is also a bus stop in front of the hotel.

The apartments are relatively new (or recently refurbished?). We stayed with our 13 year old daughter who used the pull out couch. The room was still a bit small but bigger than any of the other hotels we stayed in in Japan and it was easy to get settled with the extra storage space. There are two cupboards at the...

Staying in Shimogyo-ku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shimogyo-ku
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.
