Reviews Summary

Powered by AI
Hotel Tou Nishinotoin in Kyoto receives high marks for cleanliness, with guests consistently noting the pristine condition of the rooms and public bath. The hotel's convenient location is appreciated by many for its proximity to transit and local amenities, although some mention a scarcity of dining options in the immediate area. While the rooms are described as small yet well-appointed, opinions on value for money are divided. The staff's attentive service garners praise, and the hotel's serene atmosphere and amenities, including a public bath and breakfast options, are popular among visitors, despite some comments about limited lighting and space in the rooms.

Very nice and clean hotel, staff helpful anytime. Nice rooms, two different pillows, warm and clean public bath. Spacious hotel. Everything looks new. Not in the middle of the centre but that makes it a not too noisy hotel. Shrines and temples all around, and just 10 minutes walking to Kyoto station.

This was the best hotel I used in Japan - excellent service, clean and cool aesthetic, and fantastic amenities in the room and outside of it. Welcome lounge drinks between 3pm and 8.30pm every day, charging cables and adaptors in the room, and we were able to borrow umbrellas from reception when it was raining.

Professional and helpful staff. Rooms, bed and climate in the room was good. Breakfast was fresh and served professionally. Perhaps the price was a little too high in line with its standard. But as mentioned a good stay overall. See you soon again.

A zen place to relax and recover. Stylish and cozy hotel in Kyoto with great communal onsen area and delicious breakfast. The staff did everything to make us feel home and more. Conveniently located close to the Kyoto station (Bus 50). Also highly recommend the French bakery nearby.

The hotel has a zen minimalist look and is very dark. We went when the weather wasn't that great so maybe that's why the hotel felt a bit gloomy. We did like the onsen in the basement, and having access to a laundry machine was convenient. You check in on an ATM machine which didn't feel welcoming. There is staff nearby and they helped us and we were able to check in despite the language barrier. Other reviews had mentioned welcome drinks but we weren't offered any or given any information about them, so I guess you need to ask! The breakfast (extra charge) was filling and interesting. We got the western breakfast with eggs, ham, orange juice, a croissant, a salad and soup. This hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the train station and about a 25-30 minute walk to tourist areas. There weren't many restaurants nearby and other than at breakfast, the cafe part of the hotel didn't seem open when we were there. But there was a vending machine in the basement with drinks and beer. I would recommend splurging for a bigger room since the smaller ones are very small. I would rate this hotel 3.5 bubbles.
