Stayed there for a period of 4 days, wonderful experience, room was clean and comfortable, in-room facilities adequate and staff were friendly and approachable. Really enjoyed our stay there and will definitely recommend friends and family to stay in this hotel should they visit Kyoto....More
Had a great stay here during the Christmas break. We stayed in 3 hotels in Japan and it was our favourite. Compared to the other hotels that we stayed in, it was larger. It had good basic room facilities and the staff were always polite...More
Staff are amazing and so accommodating.... we had double room beds were comfy the room itself was slightly on the small side but totally do- able. The kicker though is the bar the bartender and his unbelievable list of cocktails. If you do stay there...More
We stayed here due to the great reviews on Tripadvisor but we were a bit disappointed. We would try somewhere else out if we went back to Kyoto.
- Staff are great, English is OK
- Location is good - can get around Kyoto...More
On balance, I would not stay in this hotel again. Here's why:
. No closet or drawers in a very small, cramped room, making storage of clothes, etc. crazy for a 4-day stay.
. No fitness center
. No business center
. No room...More

No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of
local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.

After flying long haul, especially with a child, the ease of a taxi is the best mode of transport in my experience. Realistically, the cost is nothing in the overall holiday budget and you just get to the hotel and don't have to worry about anything else. I cannot recall the cost, probably due to the affordability......... Great staff at the hotel with a nice little bakery next door for breakfast
