Very good location; just right across of JR station. The black mold all around the bathtub and mirror; disgusting. The price is fare to get this location with this condition. They have smoking room available, but it's not my favourite.

This hotel is right in front of Kyoto Station, so it is really easy to go around the town. Also it has facilities for handicapped people. Finally the room is wide and comfortable. If you are planning a family vacation I would recommend this place. 교토역 바로 앞이어서 위치가 최고입니다. 그리고 장애인을 위한 시설들이 잘 되어 있어서 편했습니다. 조식도 맛있고...

Hotel just opposite to JR Station and easy to locate. It takes only few minutes from the station and the room is big in compare to other hotels. Kyoto is a place that you could go there again and again. And this hotel is absolutely my choice to stay.

i stayed in a single room for 4 nights. the room was small and old. i didn't feel the housekeeping was particularly well done. it was careless at best, and many areas of the room was not properly cleaned throughout my stay. very disappointing considering this is a well known chain hotel in japan. only good thing was the location,...

Stayed one night here in order to spend a bit more time exploring Kyoto, which was wholly inadequate. We took the train in from Osaka station. The hotel is right across the street from Kyoto station, towards the left as you exit the central entrance. For those without big luggage, you can take the second set of escalators after turning...

We stayed here for a couple of nights over Christmas. The location is great as it is directly out the front of Kyoto's main railway station. We booked a compact room and that just about really describes the room, just enough room to get around the bed and not really anywhere to put a suitcase. Still it was adequate and...

Good location right opposite Kyoto Station. Breakfast tastes good with decent variety. Rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel should have a business center as I was trying to get some documents printed but was told by the reception that I'll have to do it on my own at the convenience store. Unfortunately I couldn't understand or operate the machine...

The hotel was nice. Great location with a subway entrance directly in front of the hotel. It had multiple restaurants which I didn't get a chance to visit. I tried to get in one day but it was fully booked. So I tried to make a reservation a day prior and it was still booked up. It was disappointing that...

Staying in Shimogyo-ku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shimogyo-ku
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.
