I liked everything about this hotel, the beds were comfortable, the staff were welcoming, friendly and most spoke English. Easy access to the city centre by their free shuttle bus service. 5 minutes walk to the imperial palace. I would definately recommend.
This hotel is a short taxi ride outside of town, but has bigger rooms. If you are a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) like us, they can accommodate you with a bigger single room instead of having to book two rooms like in...More
This hotel provided a really good sized room with a cot for my infant son. The hotel in general is a bit outdated but is in a good location close to tourist sights. Provided a free shuttle bus to main train station which we found...More
This was a lovely hotel with lovely staff who went out if their way to make you feel welcome and looked after your needs. Especially the reception staff - there was a young lady who was absolutely lovely and sorted out restaurants for us on...More
Luxury standard, business type hotel but located bit outside. They offer shuttle service to metro station which is 2 stops from Kyoto Central Station. I would advise anybody to just take a cab from the Central Station instead of moving all luggage and buying meteo...More

A district with a long textile heritage, ancient Kyoto is still alive in the Nishijin District. Studded with its weaving factories, tea houses, and onsen, the neighborhood is charming and peaceful with a self-possessed air. Less traveled than other parts of the city, it is a district where you can take it at your own pace. Visitors can explore the many weaving and cloth houses, the free kimono shows, and the many
shops selling traditional clothing and goods. Showcasing architecture with sloping roofs and wooden reliefs dating to decades past, the streets in the Nishijin District transport you back in time, making them a joy to wander.
