We were a group of 7 adults and one Bub. One room was available prior to 2pm fortunately it was the one with the cot. The rest of us didn't have to wait much past 2pm to get our rooms. Nice clean rooms with lots of amenities. Two bottles of water was provided each day and the WIFI was good....

Located a short walk from Kyoto JR station. The hotel is not much to look at from the outside, but is quite nice once you enter the lobby. We stayed for 3 nights in a king suite. The lobby was very crowded on arrival, but we were checked in quickly. The hotel is quite large, and very spread out. Even...

This hotel is walking distance from Kyoto Station and is very clean and modern looking. The only thing that threw me off was the check in that took 20 minutes. Mr. H at reception did not look like he knew what he was doing and he did not apologize once for taking up our time. Also, this isn't anything major...

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. We are terribly sorry for the delayed check-in...

Ample space, personal slippers, lovely scented bath salts, designer toiletries, and a capsule coffee machine. Basically the room is well kitted. The buffet breakfast is very good quality. Easy route to the train station, food places, shopping areas. Would have been better if there is a laundry area for guests.

Stayed for a view days and was very impressed. The rooms are as in most Japanese hotels quite small, but very well appointed, especially after the refurbishment. Nothing is missing. Very luxurious bathroom amenities. Even while the hotel is situated by a very busy main road and near the railways, the isolation of the windows is so good you wouldn't...

We (a family of four) stayed here for four nights. We had to rooms on the tenth floor (at different ends of the floor). First, the good; the rooms are a good size and newly-renovated. The beds are very comfortable, the shower is powerful and responsive. The breakfast buffet is pretty decent. The lobby looked good, the room was clean, buffet breakfast sufficient. What more can one ask for? Oh yes, it is near the train station, so convenient. It is really no different from the numerous hotels in the world.

Staying in Shimogyo-ku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shimogyo-ku
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.
