It has a good location, in a central place in Kyoto. The rooms are clean. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is good. There are a lot of markets, cafes and historical places around hostel.

Too small! Is it suppose to be like a capsule hostel but rustic one (maybe...) The eight people room would be a small room for a single person, they use it for 8!!! You have a box inside your bed your you can leave stuff, but if you have a medium/big bag, you don't have space not even to enter...

A mix between a traditional Japanese house and a cozy old school ambience. The stuff is very friendly and also recommended us a nice bar close by owed by the hostel. They were also quite flexible allowing us to get our shower after the check out.

Great neighborhood, close to everything in town. You can rent a bike for the whole day and come back anytime, the staff is great and Nori, the manager, is the nicest guy who will help you any way he can. The hostel is small, but typical and totally safe. It's a pity to leave the place!

I don't really know why this hostel has such high ratings on TA. I dreaded my stay from the moment I arrived. The 2 staff who checked me in on the 4th of March were really friendly and really nice. I hadn't realised they didn't accept card payments, but the guy said I could pay it before I checked out,and...

Great atmosphere/vibe here. It's small indeed, but I was able to consistently find a quiet place to teach on-line when I stayed here for 30 days in the dorm! The owner Komeo is a super cool dude...and Taku is now the manager he is a very hard worker, good English can help you with anything. There is a younger Japanese...

Would definitely stay here again. The staff are some of the nicest people you will ever meet and they never fail to make you feel welcome and like you're at home. They were so kind from the moment we got there until the moment we left. And they speak English pretty well. When we checked in we were given a...

I stayed here with four other members of my exchange group for 10 days. We were traveling on a budget and it was the perfect place for us. A great location close to some major spots and close to bus stops for sites that are farther away. The staff was incredibly helpful in telling us where to go see, and...

Kyoto itself already caught my heart and Hostel Mundo Chiquito definitely made a plus point for me to be in love with this lovely place. The hostel is small yet clean and equipped. It has everything you want : friendly staff, clean toilet, privacy, good location, new friends and memories! 5 nights spending here isn't enough for us and we...

Staying in City Center

Neighbourhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
