Great hotel in Gion. Right in the middle of all the action. Excellent transport links. Very welcoming staff. Good sized rooms with all facilities. I will use this hotel again. Breakfast is available. Please include a visit to Nara from kyoto. We did our own day trip which was great. Lots of geisha walking around.

The hotel is super close to the bus stop and Lawson. Many attractions are within the walking distance! No coin laundry at the hotel. ~5 minute walk away. The reception can provide you a map. The route to the laundry was actually on the way to Ishibei-koji and Koda-Ji. We bumped into many tourists and even saw 3 geishas! The...

This was the second hotel my husband and I stayed at during our trip to Japan in November 2016. First of all... the room was GIGANTIC. Not just by Japanese standards -- I mean, this was the largest hotel room I have ever stayed in. I loved that. It had a Japanese-style shower room / bathtub which was great... and...

It's within walking distance of Gion and Yasaka shrine which are perfect sights to take in at night before returning to the hotel. Kiyomizudera a a bit of a walk but the whole way is a tour in itself. Although, it's best to take a quick bus ride to Kiyomizudera then walk back to the hotel through Higashiyama, be sure...

We stayed here for 2 nights with our teenagers 15,13 years in a family room. The rooms are spacious and has a very large bathroom with soa bath and separate shower. Excellent location to the Gion area and a 5 minute walk to the station. The staff were especially helpful with excellent English. We were very pleasantly surprised as I...

The decor was dated, and the rooms smelt musty, but this was one of the largest hotel rooms we'd had in Japan, with a giant bathroom that seemed excessively large. Two free bottles of water were supplied each day. Not great, but not bad. Comfortable hotel. Would recommend.

The hotel was very easy to get to from Kyoto Station by bus and has an excellent location in the Gion area. They also had family rooms that could accommodate us all which was definitely one of the main reasons we picked this hotel. The staff was also very nice and friendly. They have a vending machine just off of...

In this hotel the reception was every time very friendly and they spoken very good english. Our room size was Ok but not so big as in other pictures. It was very nice that...

The hotel is in a very good area of Kyoto and the rooms are HUGE, especially for Japan. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms clean. The bathroom was quite big with a lovely, deep bath and the beds were really comfortable. The only negative thing I can say is that the buffet breakfast isn't great (it's not...

Hotel Sunline is a tourist class hotel in a great position. If you want room service, in-house laundry or a concierge to organize your trips stay some where else. But if you want a great position - really right in the heart of the major sights in southern Higashiyama - and in our case a large room with two double...
