The location was very near, staffs were nice and helpful, there is also a nearby shopping malls and 24 hours family mart. We rented 1whole room consists of 6 beds, the bed was comfy and clean, one minus though because their ac is centralized, it's not cold. Eventhough the weather outside is cold, but we still need to open the...

This is the best hostel I have stayed in. It is welcoming and clean. The staff all have great English and are happy to help you with anything. We got lucky with our beds in the 18bed mixed dorm right at the end of the dorm so it was very private with curtains as well. They have slippers towels wifi...

I visit Kyoto just only 1 night and found this lovely hostel. As I heard that this place quite busy so you need to book in advance. I really like to stay here if I have chance to visit Kyoto next time.

We stayed here for three nights and enjoyed our time in Piece Hostel. The rooms are small, but the facilities are great. It's a modern hostel with nice breakfast and really good showers. Definitely worth to book!

The Piece Hostel is just a short walk from the Shinkanzen station, which is very convenient, both upon arrival and departure, and also for touring around. Megumi on reception showed us around when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. We stayed in a private room, which is small, but comes with a comfortable bed, widescreen TV and sink...

Staff are super friendly and helped me with any and every question I had. They even returned money I had used for a new key card after finding the first one I lost. I was honestly a little sad to have to leave and stay at another hostel once my trip mved to a new town. I really enjoyed the...

The best thing about this hostel was the location being walking distance from Kyoto train station, the second best thing was the free breakfast which we haven't got anywhere else in Japan while travelling. Breakfast was either Japanese (consisting of rice, sauce and miso soup I think) or continental (consisting of different bread options, boiled eggs and potato salad). The...

Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighbourhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
