Second time to stay at this particular hotel. First time was in a rather large suite. This time, is was an ordinary room, on the third floor. The hotel is wonderful in that it caters to American's. And ask for Mr. Toby as a guide/interpreter. Second time to have Toby, and he is wonderful. But, the hotel needs some updating...

While near the train station, the hotel is located next to a hospital, which is not in a nice location. The building itself is old, although it has been updated at some point. The view from our room is the rooftop of a building. The hotel is not tall, so I'd expect all of the rooms have horrible views. There...

Stayed here for 4 nights. The staff speaks excellent English and every single staff member I interacted with was, without fail, courteous, helpful and so professional. Concierge service was wonderfully helpful with sightseeing itinerary. I don't know if this made any difference, but two nights were a freebie from the Hyatt Credit Card from Chase. The other two nights I...

This Hyatt was probably doomed for us because we were coming from the Peninsula Tokyo, which is one of the top hotels in the world. Nothing could measure up to that standard. That prejudice notwithstanding, here are the pluses and minuses to the hotel: Pluses: (1) great concierge with WONDERFUL recommendations -- very local, excellent restaurants. (2) nice hotel bar...

Very good gym/fitness area. No pool. Good options for eating within the hotel with a choice of 3 restaurants. Rooms slightly small in my opinion but hotel in General was very nice and comfortable.would recommend to a anyone seeking good fitness facilities and a comforting stay.

Disclosure: I booked my four nights at the Hyatt Regency using points. Also, I am a platinum member. In summary: I rate the hotel very highly, however the restaurant service was lacking. On the other hand, I received an unexpected $30 off every dinner simply by booking through Hyatt.com so I can't really complain… Pros: - Complimentary taxi from Kyoto...

I stayed for two nights at the end of a wonderful but full-on 21 day visit to Japan and enjoyed the luxury of a very comfortable king-size bed and spacious, well-appointed room with nice design and fittings. The bathroom had three sections - bath and shower, basin and mirror with seat, and toilet. My room was on the 4th of...

I normally associate Hyatts with apple pie, burgers and all things American. However, the Kyoto Hyatt is virtually a full blown Japanese hotel, from the building style, decor, staff courteousness and zen spaces. We stayed for 2 nights ( which is probably enough) and could not fault it. The only irritations came from the restaurants. Of the 3 options, we...

We stayed for 4 nights in June and really enjoyed our time here. First tip, take a taxi from the station! It's cheap and might save you from walking around lost in the heat for 45 mins like we did! This was our fault for not being organised with directions! But our great experience started at check in when we...

The hotel is in a perfect location just 5 mins from the centre of Kyoto by taxi (€6) and adjacent to the Temple of 1001 Buddha’s and the City Museum, with many other of the main temples within walking distance. The hotel itself offers a rather boring breakfast buffet in the main lobby restaurant. Unfortunately, the main Japanese restaurant at...
