Great room including onsen in the bathroom. Spacious room with balcony, loved standing out and watching the world go by and hearing the noises particularly from the temple down the road. Intimate bar, good food, hard to fault this. We were early for checkin, but looked after with drinks whilst we waited for the room to be made up. Lots...

Stayed for 3 nights for our first visit to Kyoto. After an initial mix up with our room all went smoothly. The hotel is away from the main downtown area but only a couple of stops on the MTR; but is located within walking distance of a couple of the major temples or a short taxi/train ride. We ate in...

Very good location, with good access to public transportation. Nice room, but more storage space would be appreciated, notably to dry towels during the wet summer. Excellent service. Breakfast of excellent quality. Price too high compared to competition.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel in the middle of August for 4 days. Our room was very large and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom had a great size, there was a bathtub and a big shower. The staff was very friendly and the staff at the Information desk supplied us with every information we needed....

Location was fine though at the bottom of a hill so you need to take a bus or a taxi up to the main temples- factor in $10-20 for that. The staff at the door are very friendly however rooms very basic; I'm not sure this is a 5 star hotel. The concierge sent us to a restaurant in Gion...

We stayed at this hotel at the end of June, for 4 days. The people at this hotel are so nice, you are welcomed at the door by the general manager himself, plus a number of other people. Each person here is nicer than the next. From the concierges, to the waiters at breakfast, to the reception employees, and on...

This hotel is a very good choice for Kyoto. It has a great location, plenty of amenities, nice rooms, a pretty good staff, and depending on your rate is a very good value. I want to caution that many reviews for this hotel imply it is a 5 star hotel comparable to a Park Hyatt, and that simply is not...

We wanted to choose a comfortable hotel in Kyoto. Japan hotels are famous for their relatively small size. So we chose an international brand. We aimed at comfortness and good sleep, but it turned out a surprise! The room is comfortable and the hotel is good enough. But the neighbourhood is super! Sanjūsangen-dō is nest door. The Kyoto museum is...

Wow, what can I say. We stayed at this fantastic hotel when visiting Kyoto, and we were really impressed by the design, style, service, culinary and rooms. We were greeted by the General Manager Yokoyama San and escorted to a fabulous suite, overlooking a zen garden. The room is pleasantly designed, with warm wood furnishing and offered a lovely welcome...

Everything was absolutely perfect in this hotel. Feeling a little 'lost in translation' upon arrival in Japan, the hotel made up for everything. Excellent staff. Perfect beds and lovely food. And of course the hotel's got those interesting Japanese toilets everywhere ;)
