This is a basic hotel with good location in Nagano. That meaning it is 'basic' in Japanese standard meaning, compared to most other places in the world, it is good value! You won't miss a thing in it. It's not charming, it has no great views and it is quite cramped. But it is extremely clean and not missing a...

The Smile Hotel in Nagano is a great place to stay in business. There were a few of us in our group and we all had a positive experience. The rooms are small but clean and well looked after. The hotel staff were friendly and spoke English well. It was a shirk walk from the station. The hotel is surrounded...

The hotel is a fairly straight walk from the Nagano Station (about 10-15min walk). The hotel is western style with escalator and lift, making taking the luggage upstairs easy. The room was clean and the location was fairly convenient to restaurants. The room included buffet breakfast: only Japanese porridge and bread/toast with juice, coffee/tea. Not bad for the price.

Rooms are very small but it includes all the facilities. Hotel is located near the JR Nagano station( just take the midori exit and walk 700m). Hotel staffs are awesome and very helpful. Hotel provides a breakfast with limited options but it is worth. The only drawback is that they does not have a lift to the reception located in...

Good location, especially if you're travelling by train (train station is only about 10 minutes walk). Rooms small but have everyhing you'll need. Quiet cheap, especially for being located in a city centre. Friendly and helpull staff

Smile Hotel is a little out of the way compared to the other hotels out there. It took my family around 20mins to walk to Nagano train station. But bear in mind we were lugging large bags in the snow. It doesn't help that the entrance to the actual hotel is a flight of stairs too. But for that inconvenience,...

This was a last minute booking on the way to Nozawa Onsen. It is less than 10 minutes walk from the station. It is an older hotel but clean and reasonable. The rooms were actually bigger than the other hotels we stayed on. Pillow was hard and felt like there is wheat inside it. There is a convenience store across...

Within walking distance to train station. Reception staff were very helpful and tried to get us a taxi that would take a ski bag. Rooms smelt a bit like cigarette smoke and there was no wifi available. The rooms are pretty standard size for Japan and were clean and comfortable. We missed the breakfast to catch an early train.

good business-hotel in central nagano-shi. polite, helpful staff. it is about 10-15 minutes on foot from the nagano JR station. you can take a bus as well. the breakfast is strictly ok - fine if you are on a budget, but you are probably better off with a coffee and sandwich from the daily yamazaki across the road. the room...

Quite near to city centre and walking distance to zenkoji temple. Friendly staff. The room size is small but with a queen size bed and sufficient bag space for 2 luggage. Breakfast is only ok.
