We went here as a group of foreign students and all we needed was a place to sleep after a long day of travelling around the region. We were not allowed to stay in our initial rooms because an old lady stubbornly refused to sleep in the same room with a foreign man (it was well specified that the room...

The hostel is very close to the train station and gives you a very home vibe. When I went it was under renovation but in general rooms are very basic even if comfy. This policy of closing during the day is quite strange, but if you stay for a little time you can make yourself busy outside.

Stayed here for two nights in a female dorm and it was a great stay, much more convenient than I expected, no slopes or weird staircases on the way from the station. Easy to navigate and move your huge luggage around. True that the place was a little run down (and there was a lift but it wasn't in use)...

They lose potential customers by closing from 10:30 to 4. Otherwise, you get a large private room at low price, the lounge is also nice, some other parts of this older building need renovation. Welcoming. Well located near the railway station and next to a supermarket.

We stayed here one night in a private Japanese style room. We chose this place because we were only passing through Nagano so wanted to be as close to the train station as possible. And for that, this place was really great. Literally two mins walk from the JR station, but not noisy at all at night despite being right...

Very close to the main station with lovely staff who speak English well. We were in a private room - all tatami flooring with fairly thin futons so not the most comfortable nights sleep but it is traditional Japanese style. Lovely lounge and staff helpful with local places to go. Worth a stay if you're here a night or two

I stayed here 24 October 2015 for 1 night with private room. 5 minutes walk from Nagano station. Check in time 4 PM but if you came early, you would left baggage and took map to travel around Nagano and came back again. 100 yens for towel. Shared bathroom and toilet. Free wifi but not strong in room. In living...

Easy to find hostel right next to the train station. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. We (couple) stayed one night in private tatami room with outside bathroom and the next day, to save money, they offered us to change to the dorm room. I can't complain about the hostel, it's surely not new but clean and well maintained. Yes,...

Great location, close to train station. Our room backed on to the train line, which was very noisy overnight. The staff were very friendly and helpful, however the facility was poorly maintained and in bad condition. The bedding was getting very close to the end of its useful life, and the walls were stained. We had to scale two flights...

The hostel is just a 4 minute walk away from the railway station and pretty easy to find. I stayed in a dorm with traditional tatami mats and it was pretty cold when I arrived but at least there was a heater in the room, which helped a lot. The owners were happy to help with directions and local sightseeing...

“I had the 6 bed female dorm room at the other side of the building and didn't hear the noise by the trains. There was only a small cupboard, though.”
  • The wooden beds each had a small holder for belongings, which I liked.
