My wife and I were coming down from the mountains at Shiga-kogen, just NW of Nagano and needed a place to stay for one night. Great price, good amenities and perfect location. Less than .5 miles from Nagano station. ¥730 taxi ride or easy enough to walk. Near many restaurants, pubs and shops. In-room WiFi was fast. Room was small,... More

We have stayed here twice now and found its location convenient and room excellent. Has an good breakfast buffet and an excellent view of the outlying mountains. Just 5 minutes walk from the station and in the main street that leads to many attractions and food!

Good night's sleep, different types of pillows; a standard soft pillow, and a thicker pillow that has a soft side (western style), or turn it for buckwheat. Can enjoy the outside air with the window open during the day, as it is a quieter location. Get a DOUBLE, the economy double is really single or semi double at most, only... More

Booked via Rakuten for 2 nights 15,000 yen per night. Breakfast included and a JAL cup noodle per person per night. Very nicely situated for Zenkoji temple walkaround. Supermarket near by. Slightly far away from Nagano station if you have many luggages. Their award winning breakfast didn't do it for me, I'm afraid. The worrying factor was that they seem... More

Staff miss often. Room is not wide. Just a Hotel. About breakfast, it seems there were so many kind of dishes. But actually, they were almost seasonings. Of course, I know that NAGANO is famous for MISO. But too many beans. They expect to eat them and rice together to us. Beans, beans, beans.......and dried seaweed,Natto, root vegetables mix etc.... The rooms here are small but very clean and serviceable. The breakfast buffet will suit most tastes. The staff were very helpful with our questions. It feels like the hotel has not been updated since the Olympics and is due for a renovation, but old does not equate with shabby and we enjoyed our stay here.

The rooms are pretty small and tight. It is in a good location just down the street from the Senkoji temple. Good restaurants nearby. Staff were pleasant. Breakfast was an odd fusion not traditional Japanese.

Built for the Nagano Winter Olympics the JAL is starting to feel its age. We overnighted so we could check out the amazing snow monkeys nearby (a must do and worth the hike). Rooms tiny. We've spent two weeks in Japan and the tiniest yet. Could barely turn around in the bathroom and the bed was hard work for two.

If you're looking for a central hotel & dont intend to spend much time in your room - this hotel fits the bill nicely. Staff are efficient & helpful (reception, housekeeping, restaurant) but lacking in warmth. Its a business/tour group kind of hotel & the rooms are tiny. Very cramped for 2 persons & you cant help but bump into... More
