Didn't have a good impression when checking in. Booked for non-smoking room, got a smoking room instead. The room has a stench.
And has no views as well.
The only good thing to say is the lobby is spacious and what I expect for a...More
I've stayed at the OGPHotel 3 times now. Previously in TWIN Rooms & it was a good experience. We were a family of 3 this time & stayed in the Tatami Room.
It was very clean, comfortable, good bedding, great service. A Good experience.
The staff was so very friendly and I loved the little shuttle bus they had to take you to and from the train station. The room was small but the space is used really efficiently. Same with the bathroom.
We spent one night at this hotel, as we had an appointment close to Shin-Osaka station. The location is not really close to anything, but there is a free shuttle bus outside the Central exit of Shin-Osaka station that goes back and forth from the...More
I booked this hotel because of it's proximity to Shin-osaka station and found that it was an easy flat walk with luggage - about 12 minutes. The hotel does provide a free shuttle bus which runs every 15 minutes but I couldn't work out where...More

When I've booked on one of the hotel booking sites there is an option for breakfast. I've always opted for breakfast as it IS substantial with lots of choice. The only drawback is it closes at 9.30am, so if you like to sleep in, you probably wouldn't want breakfast. There surprisingly are no other cafes, convenience stores or facilities to get breakfast in the immediate area, so you would have to purchase before you go back to the hotel & eat in your room or take shuttle into Shin Osaka station. It is cheaper to pre-book breakfast, I recall, rather than purchase on the day.

You can certainly visit Kyoto on a day trip in that its easy to travel from Osaka to Kyoto (plenty of trains) but whether you could actually see an awful lot in Kyoto in a day is in my opinion questionable.
