What a joy to stay in this very clean, quiet hotel. The owner was friendly and answered my numerous questions. We stayed in the Take room which was perfect for 3 people. Since there were many futons in the closet we pulled them out and were very comfortable. We stayed 2 nights and both mornings ate the delicious Japanese breakfast....

Mr. and Mrs. Fujiwara are the best! He manages the front and she cooks a most excellent breakfast. The whole place is thoughtfully outfitted for your enjoyment and relaxation. Cleanliness is top-notch, they have a daily cleaning crew come in and give the place a thorough once over. As he says in the welcome notes: "Owner [is not] a busybody,"...

We loved Fujiwara Ryokan - everything about it. The hosts are absolutely charming; attentive, kind, humourous... I found it uncanny that the host was always there when we passed the first floor reception - I assumed he must either have some ninja-like 6th sense that allowed him to anticipate his guests' coming and going or he spent all his day...

Fujiwara is a standard minshuku, i.e., a family operated bed and breakfast. It is not a ryokan, a traditional japanese hotel featuring dinner and traditional baths. Fujiwara advertises itself honestly in Japanese, calling itself a minshuku. In English, however, it claims to be a ryokan. Do not be fooled. Fujiwara is, in effect, someone's home. It is not a very...

Very nice and warm welcome by the two hosts. Immediately felt the warmth of this Ryokan. They were very kind and looked after my luggage because I arrived already early in the morning. Breakfast was delicious

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 4 year old son. Very comfortable room, with an ensuite, and plenty of space for our copious baggage. Good location, ten minutes walk from Nagasaki station. Also close to a little playground, which our son enjoyed playing in. Tram stop nearby, which we used, although we actually walked quite a lot as...

Fujiwara ryokan is the perfect place to stay in Nagasaki. We were here in April and then again in November. The ensuite room is large and extremely comfortable. Mr & Mrs Fujiwara are charming and considerate people. We had breakfast each morning and it was without doubt the most delicious breakfast we've had on our many trips to Japan. It's...

Four of us stayed hear for a couple of nights. This is one of the best Ryokans we have stayed at during our 3 week visit of Japan. The rooms are very clean and spacious with lots of tatami mats in each room to make a comfortable bed. Our hosts were very friendly and made us most welcome. The breakfast...

This is a well located ryokan a short taxi ride from the train station. We had a warm welcome from the owner. Our tatami room was on the first floor and was ensuite which we appreciated. The ryokan is very clean and well set up with a quick coin washing machine and dryer. The ryokan provides a Japanese breakfast if...

“I made a reservation for Ume no ma and got upgraded to the Take no ma, since it was free that night (ensuite shower and toilet). I think Ume no ma is a good size for one or two people, with maybe three or four people fitting into Take no ma. However, if you want ensuite facilities, then you'll have to book Take no ma. Either way, all the rooms are a really great value.”
