The location is very good as it was next to Chow Kit market which sells fresh fruits with very reasonable price. Just outside the hotel is the Free Go KL bus to most places of interest. There are 4 free routes that visitors can take with nice cold air conditioned

Pros: for the amount you’re paying it is a very decent hotel that is clean, modern, eye-pleasing simple decor. Important things work: strong water pressure from shower and functioning strong aircon. It is not near city center but you can get there in a Grab at RM10-15 in less than 15 minutes. If you’re going to be out most of the day to explore this is a great place to just simply come back for a good night’s rest and nothing more.

Cons: neighbourhood is a little dodge-y, explore around the hotel at night at your own risk. There is literally nothing around in walking distance. It is very noisy with motorcycle noises every single night. Important things work but some not crucial items might not: the TV is faulty in a few of our rooms and my key card doesn’t function every single night when I get back and have to wait for security to “break in” my room (even after he replaced battery). One of the lifts are broken too.

The room I stayed (309) has an odd “tapping” noise that disturbs periodically through the night . It is not paranormal or anything spooky (as it sounds mechanical) however it just disrupts sleep. The walls between the rooms are thin too so ‘em you can hear your neighbour coughing or kids crying pretty clearly .

What happens when you take a 14hr flight with a 3hr layover and finish with a 6hr flight and everyone is on time. I crawled to the desk looking for mercy and Hilton North didn't let me down. The Hotel is centrally located so the motorcycles and traffic can be noisy, butanything you need from sim cards to cellphones can be purchased within walking distance. The breakfast buffet was good but go early to beat the crowd it opens at 6, for dinner I wanted to do the local street food. If you want to use the elevator, you need to touch your room key to the black scanner below the keypad and then press your floor button. There's no doubt in my mind that I recieved good value for my money and this stay has convinced me to select Hilton as my first choice worldwide.

We have done bookings for 3 rooms from 11 to 12 Oct. They have charged wrongly for one room and failed to cancel the a credit card transaction and thus resulting in double charging. Till now today, the refund has not been received and we hear no follow up from the management. This is not acceptable as a reputable hotel.

The Hotel staff is very unfriendly, people at front desk don’t pay attention to your complains. Guest room was not up to Hilton Standards, the bathroom had glass door touches the floor and makes huge noise while opening and closing that could break any moment. There was a constant noise of some heavy machinery running next to the room and despite of raising the complain, no one cared to even look into the matter. Front desk promised to change the room but never obliged. We had to spend our nights with a constant noise in the backdrop. Bathroom didn’t have any ventilation or exhaust fan that was working. We used to get drenched in sweat while sitting in the commode and had to keep bathroom door open in order have some ventilation from room AC. Toilet flush didn’t have water pressure, after first use it would take ages to fill the tank and be used second time. The commode size was so small that only kids could use it. Even the Bed was small and could barely accommodate a couple. Resturant informed that breakfast would be served until 11am on 1st of May 2023 due to holiday but they started closing the buffet right at 10:30am and we had to return without proper food. The room is badly in the need of refurbishing, had damp feel to it and some extremely wired odor inside the room. Extremely dissatisfied with the hospitality and quality of the property. Hilton should look at it seriously and staff should be given Hilton lessons on customer service.

I found this stay very matter of fact and devoid of any warmth. There was no hello, welcome, how are you, thank you or good bye at check in or check out. I even tried to prompt these by saying all of the above except welcome but was unsuccessful.

I used to love Hilton and maintained elite HH status with 50 or more nights anuually for years, but reduced my travels even before the pandemic, dropping to zero in the last couple of years. Hilton has obviously changed a lot.

I also noticed extreme cost cutting. Simple speaker phones are cheap nowadays, but the room had a lift-handset only version which I have not seen anywhere in a few years and particularly so since the pandemic brought on no-contact as a norm.

There is not a single foreign channel on the room TV, just local channels and a couple of Vision Four cable movie channels. No BBC, CNN, CNA, Al Jazeera, AXN or anything else.

The bathroom amenities were odd. There were the single tubes of shampoo, body wash and lotion but no toothbrush//paste or mouthwash. There was one very, very small handsoap. And mine was a double room! It did have two pairs of room slippers, though.

There is no clock or any time display (easily an option on most TVs) but the room and bathroom was of decent size. Water pressure and hot water was good. No blockages at all in the sink or shower.

So, the basic infrastructure is there, just let down by poor planning and management.

Comparing with other 3* hotels, Garden Inn felts more like a 4* hotel, the only thing that it losing out to 4* is the size of the room and amenities but that is understandable. Value for money, clean and no frills, baby cot is available as well..

The one that I would really wanted to praise is the lady at the breakfast name Rosnita or very similarly name.

The plate/cutlery area is just beside our table and she took an extra effort to slowly put down all the plates and cutleries in order not to disturb our baby sleeping in the stroller without us telling her to do so, and she came to chat with us time to time as well.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Kuala Lumpur Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman North for one night on a short city break to KL. The hotel is located a bit away from the main commercial and tourist attractions but still has good access to RapidKL via the Monorail (nearest station is Chow Kit is about 5 min walking distance – travel from KL Sentral to Chow Kit via the Monorail takes c. 25 minutes).

Our room was located on the 11th floor and due to my Hilton Gold membership, we received an upgrade to a room featuring views of the Petronas Towers. Additionally, due to the Gold status the breakfast was also included. Some parts of our room felt recently upgraded (bed, wallpapers and the wall tiles in the bathroom) whilst other parts and furniture seemed outdated and requiring some maintenance work. To mention here was the carpet which was very stained and even had some burn holes despite the room being allegedly a non-smoking room (luckily slippers are provided); and the door frame to the bathroom which started to rot/disintegrate at the bottom.

The hotel also features a gym on the ground floor with a decent amount of equipment. Towles and water is also provided.

Breakfast was served in the main dining room on the ground floor next to the reception. Breakfast was decent with a decent selection from Western and Asian dishes.

Overall, the hotel does require some additional maintenance capital expenditure to be deployed from my point of view. But when considering that the one-night stay cost RM 120 which is around US$ 25 this puts things into perspective. So, if you are looking for an OK place for a short stay in KL that offers good access to public transport, then this is your hotel. If you are looking for a more high-end option that you would normally expect from a property bearing the Hilton name, I would suggest you go with a hotel closer to the commercial district.

Stayed twice in last month in North tower. Great view of KL both times. Room clean and functional. Staff friendly and helpful. Pool in South tower have to walk out 20 seconds in the street to get there. Breakfast good selection. Ala carte food quite good too. Parking in North tower must use Touch n Go RM10 must have over that amount the card to enter. South tower only parking valet RM18.

Great hotel for the price bracket. Lovely large room and exceptional staff in reception and in the restaurant. Breakfast is ample if not exotic but can always be varied with the local value cuisine found very nearby to the hotel. Management should be proud of maintaining a great atmosphere and upkeep for the price. bathrooms are large enough and amenities provided - toothbrush and toothpaste upon request in my experience.

Short trip last time but as it was so good, I have decided to include it again in my forthcoming trip for a longer duration.
