Returned to KL and stayed at the Majestic Hotel with the whole family this time, for a fortnight, and enjoyed every moment of it. Despite KL just having recently opened for business, post the pandemic, the hotel had robust health and safety COVID protocols in place and everything felt safe. The staff remain very attentive and responsive, and nothing was too much bother for them. We certainly will be returning next year, if not before then!
What a wonderful old fashioned hotel that looks back to a previous era, We had a suite in the old part of the hotel. The service and attention were first class. The breakfast was mouth watering with so much selection. Enloyed the old fashioned smokers room and cocktails in Happy Hour! The hotel may be a few blocks from the main area but a short taxi ride away from Petronas Towers, Central Market and China Town. Thoroughly recommend for a stop over stay.
This is not the first time we stayed at the Majestic. We stayed in the new wing and loved our stay. We really like the spaciousness of the room, comfort beds and pillows, white linens, bath robes and slippers, complementary drinking, tea and coffee and excellent reception desk service. The big disappointment was the buffet breakfast that was included in the reservation. We are vegan (don't consume animal products). We found a VERY limited food selection for us. We eat some fresh fruits while the restaurant manager was interviewing the chef about what we can or can't eat from the buffet. After a long discussing, he told us that the chef will cook something special for us (sautéed veggies) and oatmeal. We really appreciate a special treatment and food that was cooked for us. However, a such upscale hotel like Majestic, should have some vegan options available and ready to eat in their buffet. It feels that we, the vegans, have to "beg" for food. Another unpleasant surprise was the absence of the freshly squeezed juice(s). Only the juice from the containers was available that have no health benefits. In summary, we fully enjoyed the room and other hotel's services but were disappointed with the breakfast, although the restaurant staff did the excellent job serving us and others guests.…
Facility itself is magical, extravagant, sophisticated and simply beautiful. Great hotel with heritage and its soul. We enjoyed both swimming pools, roof garden and the café in the older part of the hotel a lot. Evenings with live music in hotels café were unforgettable. Clean, comfortable rooms decorated with taste. We had a great view of the surroundings from 14th floor. What irked me, was the staff, especially at the reception. Extremely restrictive when it comes to extending the hotel stay. There was no empathy or human touch, just plain restrictions. We extended our stay and then asked about 1 more hour since there was a 16h trip before us, only choice given was to pay again for a half day. On top of that language barrier, what was astonishing, since (almost) everyone speaks fluent English in Malaysia… In a hotel of this rank, English should not be a problem - but it was! Staff very inattentive and ambivalent. Breakfast was a tragedy. Just disgusting breakfasts, defrosted food, stale bread. Not much of a choice. Waiters looking at people nervously as they wish you to leave as soon as possible. Very negative experience. There was an event in the hotel every day and unfortunately for this reason it was not possible to order anything to eat in the restaurant at evening. It was getting very loud because of the events, we didn’t mind, but some people may find it annoying. Not the best location either. Close to metro station but no shops or restaurants nearby. Lack of empathy is what would make me think twice before staying again at the Majestic. Other than that it is a beautiful place. Despite these shortcomings, our stay was quite enjoyable. …
A delightful stay at this quaintly colonial hotel. Excellent room quality combined with excellent dining facilities. The head of hotel concierge service Sharezal looked after all our needs and together with all the hotel staff made you feel special
Our room was comfortable and, thanks to an upgrade, larger than we had anticipated. It was comfortably furnished with a well equipped bathroom. Breakfast, however, was something of a disappointment, with a very limited selection--limited both in the sense that there weren't many options on offer, and in the sense that space afforded the food counters was disproportionately small relative to the number of tables. This meant that there were long queues, and as things ran out they were not replenished particularly quickly. The location is convenient for the national museum and the botanical gardens, and both are well worth visiting, but extremely inconvenient for anything else, as it's in a very pedestrian-unfriendly mass of freeway on- and off-ramps, making it less than ideal as a base for exploring KL on foot.…
Positive: Good sized room, location and nice interior . Negative : 1) The normally standard time for checking-in for most hotels is at 2pm but Majestic is at 3pm. We requested to check out at 1pm but it was not allowed. The staff was kind of rude and said the latest check out time she could give us is at 12.30pm. 2) I messaged The Majestic Hotel Dining Department on the 23 Dec 2022 to book the afternoon tea on the 25 Dec at 4pm via whatsapp but the person in charge told me it was fully booked. He/She said will get back to me if someone has cancelled the booking but he/she did not revert so I assumed it was fully booked and I couldn't be bothered to check back. On the 25 Dec, since he/she said the afternoon tea was fully booked, I went to Colonial Cafe to check out if I can have some coffee (a la carte) instead of afternoon tea. To my surprise, the colonial cafe/drawing room was quite empty so I'm wondering why the person in charge told me it was fully booked and yet I managed to do my afternoon tea at 4pm. WEIRD! 3) One of the staff that working in the Smoke Room was quite rude (he thought he owns the Smoke room) …
I had really bad experience to stay in Majestik despite this is heritage hotel with history and bla bla bla… located in city Center of Kuala Lumpur , not country side , village or somewhere else. I will return in January 2023 to KL , but I don’t wanna stay here in Majestik anymore , there are a lot of nice hotels around this area, where my staying was really good: Hilton, FOUR points, Aloft - it might be standard but you know what you will get! I will add pictures to approve this terrible staying in Majestic This hotel was recommended to me by a friend. When we checked in, we were promised a nice and clean room with a beautiful view. 1. When we entered the room itself, it was unexpected that it was as if someone had sat on the bed, that is, there was a rather big imprint from someone's buttocks, apparently. To be honest, I see this for the first time, it does not matter at all how many stars the hotel has, and I consider it unacceptable. 2. While we called the reception and asked to fix the situation, I just walked around the room barefoot and my hair got stuck in my toes, it was terribly unpleasant. when I started looking at the carpet on the floor, I noticed a huge amount of hair, mostly white and long hair (this is definitely not my hair, since I am a brunette, my hair is short, and I just went into the room). That is, the room, most likely, no one vacuumed. 3. The surfaces of the furniture in the room were covered with a layer of dust, it was simply not cleaned by anyone. on surfaces such as the base of lamps, table legs, the base of the bed, nobody cleans anything behind the bedside tables. 4. We called and asked to fix all this disaster, the impression was that we were not in a prestigious historical hotel, but in some cheap hostel, and the size of the room and the view of the pool no longer play a huge role in this case. I asked to change the bed linen, vacuum thoroughly and dust at least from visible surfaces. The cleaning was carried out, but after cleaning, I noticed that no one wiped the dust, the bed was remade, but the hair was still on the floor and in a decent amount. 5. At the hotel reception, no one even asked how the cleaning went, whether everything suits me, how I feel, and so on. 6. It was a big disappointment that the sauna in the SPA area does not work. this is a minus. 7. Walking around the hotel, I wanted to go into the hall with orchids and shoot a video, to which the staff who worked there in the person of two young people said that nothing could be filmed here. which surprised me beyond words. 8. We booked a table in your colonial restaurant the day before, when we came the next day to clarify some questions with the staff, they said that there was no reservation for a table in our names. The staff is not quite qualified in their work: one young man stood over me and waited for me to finish the remaining 2-3 spoons of the dish in order to pick up a plate. As for the dishes, the main course at Christmas dinner was Angus steak, the roast was perfectly done, the garnish is excellent, but of the steak was absolutely tasteless (it apparently was not pickled and not aged), soI had to pepper and salt it myself in the old way ... in general, the food in the restaurant not expensive, it so happened that a bottle of champagne turned out to be more expensive than a Christmas dinner. 9. Breakfasts on the ground floor: a huge selection of dishes from different cuisines, the food is excellent and varied. I liked Roti with Chicken Curry, I liked Tuna Salad. What I didn’t like, the dirty floors in this area are terrible, the feeling that you are sitting in the dirt in some kind of street market and not in the Majestik hotel. One day, I saw a cockroach crawling on the glass of the window right in front of me above the table. And on the same day there was a hair in my omelette ... I am not recommending hotel Majestic at All…
I love the hotel design.. location.. historic building.. services.. the orchids.. the decoration.. the pianist at restaurant.. the room was great.. comfy and clean.. but smell some painting…btw, the food at restaurant is not various..I hope you add more menu
