Really liked my stay with St Regis for one of my birthday celebrations this year given the travel restriction. I didn't know what to expect but I'd say I had a really memorable stay. I feel that for the price I paid, it's really value for money as the room is very grand and spacious. I must say, the experience from entering the room all the way to check out makes me feel like I'm a royalty, with the butler (shout out to William and Adam!) tending to my needs such as getting my beverage, sending my clothes to be pressed and getting a sewing kit for my shirt that had loose button. Everything in the room was perfect and top notch. It was a six star experience. And also since I was here for my birthday, the hotel was nice enough to make some simple decor such as balloon and handwritten card paired with a chocolate cake. The fine-dine experience in The Brasserie was also pleasant. Only that I think the dessert (cheese platter and chocolate cake) didn't live up to the standard for such a luxury hotel. But given that the dinner menu was defined in my package, I couldn't complain much. The breakfast was merely decent too, with the typical selection of Asian local food and the western breakfast. If I were to compare with other hotels with the same standard such as W Hotel and Banyan Tree, I must then say that the food quality is subpar. The service was anyhow, spectacular (shoutout to Nurul that tending to our experience). The pool wasn't out-of-the-world but given that it's a business hotel, I don't think the pool is their strength, but it's nonetheless worth to soak in and have a nice sunbath. Though I think it would have been nice if welcome drinks were to be served for staying guests. Some of my experience that wasn't too pleasant but I didn't think it's the hotel's fault, such as there aren't any great view from my room and my dinner's slot was too early (at 6pm) and limited slot for swimming pool booking (1pm on the day on my checkout). These are all mostly due to the adherence to SOP which I totally understand. Lastly again wanted to share that the service from everyone was spectacular, the mannerism and the way everyone speak, from receptionist, butler, bell-boy, parking attendant, were truly amazing and sets themselves different from other hotel. I indeed feel like a real royalty and treated like one, especially Sally who checked me in. There are a lot of hits and some minor misses, but I don't think it warrant me to give anything less than 5 stars. Thumbs up.

Firstly, of course we should cut hotels a little slack at this time. With that in mind, the St Regis is certainly one of the best, if not the best hotel in KL. I’ve never stayed the night until now but have been here many times for Christmas Day, Easter Buffets and corporate events. The rooms are great and fitted with high-end equipment (Japanese toilets for one thing!) and the staff are always courteous and professional. This time though, there were a few repeat issues which suggests St Regis is struggling to maintain its usual service levels. Firstly, we stayed for one night and had to book the pool twice (as expected) given the SOPs. For the first booking it had to be rescheduled to an earlier time (no other options for the rest of the day) so we had to skip lunch, and for the second booking it was cancelled completely with no alternatives available. When you visit with children the pool is important so it was disappointing not to be able to use the pool at all on the second day. We weren’t given an explanation for either of these changes, so I assume there had been a consistent issue with pool bookings. Both my pool bookings were made with the front desk at check in. Secondly, we had booked a package that included ice cream and popcorn in the room for the children. We were asked to call when we wanted it, which we did so about 7:45pm. After two chasers they arrived at 9:16pm, and the order was still wrong. Over 90 mins for a simple snack to be delivered to the room is not acceptable for the St Regis. I also sent back my dinner (panak paneer) as it was tasteless and had no flavor (no I didn’t have COVID!). So whilst the hotel is still great and the staff were excellent, the service wasn’t up to the usual standard so I’m leaving this review as there seemed to be consistent issues with both the pool bookings and the in-room dining. Also, I wasn’t asked at checkout if I was satisfied with my stay, so I’ve just used TripAdvisor instead.

On 16 January , we were delivered afternoon tea and several cakes. They came by a very elegant female who was driving a Volvo. We were surprised. These small beauties were not event shakes in these boxes. Taste of the pastries and afternoon tea items were amazingly as expected and the was it was delivered but top notch Very well done
