This hotel is at a good location. Its has some rooms which are rear side...with no view...just a dark wall of the neighboring building. Try getting rooms on front or on higher floors where you get a good view around. Its got a good cozy swimming pool on top floor with a small jacuzzi. Its good for low cost travel....

I stayed in Mookai for 4 months and had the worst experience ever: a large amount of cash disappeared/got stolen from my room! I noticed it the day I moved out of the hotel to an appt. as it was kept in the safe in my hotel room. Reported it immediately. The hotel promised to do an internal inspection and told...

We were given this hotel by our tour agent as the flight lands late in the evening and no more boats or planes will get us to our intended island. Our guide who received us pointed us to a shuttle boat to Male and sent us on our way. When we arrived at the Male jetty, we searched around for...

Mookai is no frills, but does the trick when a conveniently located, secure hotel is what is needed. The staff are professional and courteous, the rooms clean, and the tiny swimming pool on the 9th floor terrace nice for escaping the heat and noise of Male. The best thing about the hotel is its proximity to the ferries, and to...

Stayed here for one night, on my 1st day at Malé city. After a long night flight, checked into the hotel. Once in the room, I found out the air-con was not working. When to the lobby, informed the receptionist about it and asked for a different room. To my bad luck, the next room had the same problem, air-con...

Stayed at The Mookai Hotel while on a business trip to Male. Since this was my first trip, i chose a hotel that is close to the ferry as i did not know around and also did not want to carry luggage around. The hotel does not actually seem to have its own restaurant and you have to have your...

I stayed in the Mookai Hotel 2 single nights in the first week of October 2014; one before & one after my stay on a liveaboard dive boat to accommodate flight times. The Mookai is very conveniently located within a 2 minute walk of the airport ferry landing, which was perfect for my needs. It is also convenient to many...

I attended a half-day workshop organised by my employer which was hosted at this hotel. The meeting room is located on the 9th floor and accommodates about 35 people. The view from the meeting room is quite good. There's a pool which is accessible from the meeting room as well. One thing we didn't like was the location of the...

We stayed at Mookai on 30/08/2014 for a night on transit to an island and even though we travel to developing countries all the time and are OK with sub standard hotels, with Mookai, we found the management and staff to be purely ignorant and lazy. We will never stay here again: 1. Bathroom - the shower area is filthy...

I should say, hotels in Male are not fantastic in general.. Except one or two very pricey hotels, they are just simple and filled minimum standards, still a bit pricey in light of the quality you can get. Having said so, this hotel is fine: very close to the airport shuttle boat port, only 3 minutes walk, some rooms are...
