My wife and I stayed here in the off season for 5 days and were blown away by this very original hotel. Built of stone and wood, it has a very organic feel with expansive views over the town of Bodrum down to the harbor. The service is also excellent, presided over by the

Personally, I think Bodrum is too crowded to have a relaxing holiday but El Vino convinces me otherwise. I could stay at the hotel and forget all the noise and crowd of the town. Set against the hill, it has beautiful views over Bodrum. The staff are polite: around but not

Q1: Can you tell me if this hotel would be suitable for my partially sighted hubby? A1: Would be best to contact hotel to ensure you have ground floor room adjacent to pool & breakfast area - speak with Deniz manager, who is very helpful: email address online, tel +90 252 313 87 70. There are stairs to higher levels & restaurant which I do not remember if had rails. Q2: How costly is it go to Flamm beach and is there a beach bar there and plenty of shade. A2: Free transport to/from Flamm beach. Nice place with allocated area with sunbed & towel provided. You can ask for shaded area. Pebble type beach. Good beach bar with music & waiter service if you do not want to sit at bar. Drinks/food not cheapest, but a good day out - from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm. Q3: Is Bodrum town quite pretty and quaint? QA: Hotel is peaceful & relaxing as well as pretty & quaint. Bodrum town (10-15 mins in taxi or walking, is as you would expect of a tourist centre: late June/July was very busy day & night. Lots of narrow, crowded streets is not necessarily simple for partially sighted person to cope with. Lots of good shopping, but be prepared to negotiate 40-50% below initial asking price!

Hi, Well, it's not my hotel (although I wish it were). I just reviewed it. To answer your question: Bodrum is a small town. El Vino is located in the town center within walking distance of the marina (10 minutes). But, and this is important to consider if your primary goal is to have access to a good beach within the city limits, if you stay at El Vino, you'll probably have to take a cab to go to a nearby beach. Now cabs are very cheap, frequent and easy to order, and beaches are not too far away (10 minutes drive at most), but it's one thing to go to the beach, another to be at one all the time. Another option would be to pick a hotel among the many other "beach hotels" in Bodrum and surrounding villages and towns. We stayed a few nights at Voyage Bodrum (highly recommended by TA travelers). I can't say anything bad about it, but it was just a typical beach hotel. The problem was, we were a bit early (lots of wind and colder weather than usual), so there wasn't much to do on the beach then. Hope this helps.
