Arrived with our 41' 5th wheel and checked in early. Very friendly owner. We stayed here a few years ago, and the owners have really improved the park and are working on more features. The dogpark is new and nicely done. Our site was #96 and was near the fishing pond. We could here a chorus of frogs all night...

First I've never stayed here. My comments are based on what friends say about this campground. Many local people opt to stay here for a weekend get away. Spots are shade and it's located near the NC Zoo, Pisgah Covered Bridge, Uwharrie Mtns and the Birkhead Wilderness. I know it has an outdoor seasonal pool and bounce pad. Check their...

This was our second family visit to Zooland. Our parents camped in an RV and we were in a tent site the week of Father's Day in June 2016. This is a great, family friendly campground with lots for kids to do. Our boys especially love the big bounce pillow and riding their bikes around the campground. I did notice...

I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews but after arriving I felt much better! Clean and family orientated. The bath houses were very clean. They are cleaned twice a day, yes there tends to be some dirt and grass brought in but it is to be expected for a bathhouse at a campground. I'm a firm...

This campground was nice, the kids had a blast. The restrooms were very clean. The activities were great, it was close to Halloween. We tent camped and it worked out just fine, the electric was quite helpful. The location was fairly flat and there was some space between the sites. The kids has a great time. The staff was also...

This campground is quite large with wonderful activities for the kids. The bathrooms are spotless and the staff was very friendly. It could be so much better if the sites weren't so close to each other and mud pits during rain. The back sites seem to be for permanent units and they look really run down. I recognize that not...

Our family decided to go to Zooland as a "get the feet wet" trip in our new travel trailer. Campground was clean and there were fun activities. Very close drive to the NC Zoo and the Pisgah covered bridge. The staff were very friendly. The permanent campers were in the back. The bathhouse was clean, though we only used it...

We came with our camping club-the staff was very accommodating. Most of our sites were together. Our site was fairly level, but a few in our group had to use blocks to get level, but nothing drastic. We had the use of the Lodge for group meals, meeting, games, etc. Hubby said the bathhouse was clean. The pool was closed...

We arrived late in the evening and our map with parking pass were in the mailbox. Sites were a little hard to find in the dark but we didn't need any leveling blocks. The facilities were very clean. My teenage kids had a blast. They had lots of activities at the Campground to keep them busy. We didn't even need...

This was only my second time camping in our brand new 24' rig. In late August, we spent the day at the Zoo then stayed one night here (site 23). The other campers who frequent this campground gave me some great tips. One of which was to run the water before you hook up to the rv. They said this...

“Go to the Web site and check the map. Those with children will want sites closest to playground, while those with popups or thin walled campers will want to stay away from the end of the campground that runs parallel to the main road due to road noise (not bad, but can be distracting for light sleepers). There is also an area for electric-water only which is down closer to the river.”

“The only negative thing I could say is that the showers did not have enough hooks or a small bench to store your clothes so they don't get wet. Other than that, it was great!”
