Jana is the best host, and this place is lovely. This has that lovely front porch and is only two blocks from everything. A walk to Starbucks and Shakespeare is only five minutes. I like the neighborly feel of the place. I was able to go to Lithia Park in about ten minutes or less.

Ashland Hostel should be your first choice for high quality accommodations at affordable rates. You can't beat the location--walking distance to downtown, Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF), entertainment other than OSF, Lithia Park. It's a favorite of culture lovers, hikers of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), students, and travelers on a budget. It has a full-service, well-appointed kitchen. The innkeeper, Kai, is the perfect host--friendly, professional, available to answer questions and give advice. If you're traveling to or through Ashland, Oregon, and need a low-cost, high-quality place to stay, look no further than Ashland Hostel. Be sure to contact in advance for room availability and reservations.

Ashland is one of my favorite spots to stay on my road trips back and forth between Seattle and Los Angeles (there have been MANY over the years). This hostel was the perfect place to crash with my best friend. We got a private room booked very last minute, arrived late, and headed out early. Next time I come through, I will hopefully spend more time. I loved that there was a kitchen to use, and a common area to spend time. Feels just like a cozy home. Very clean, and the people we ran into at the hostel were friendly!

Comfortable private room with additional clothes storage area, although bathroom shared with another bedroom. First floor , some light from street, but quiet. off of main living area with fire; big dining room and excellent kitchen. Slightly cold in October, and initially difficult to reach hostel supervisor. Much prefer this hostel with interesting guests to an expensive hotel.

I love this place. It's my second time visiting, and I will definitely stay there again when I go to see a play for the Shakespeare Festival. It is a eight minute walk to the Elizabethan Theatre and Lithia Park. I love that other play-goers sit around the family room and kitchen talking about the plays afterwards. Cozy reading space too.
