Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

The Embassy Suites by Hilton Austin Arboretum has garnered mixed feedback from guests. While the staff often receives commendation for their friendliness and helpfulness, the hotel itself struggles with criticism regarding its value—unexpected charges and a pressing need for renovations have been a common thread among reviewers. The rooms, as many have noted, are outdated and sometimes present issues such as mold and stains. Despite the appreciation for the breakfast and some aspects of the service, the overall atmosphere and amenities appear to be lagging behind, with calls for a modern refresh.

Hotel's Favourite
Staff was great from check in, to housekeeping, to bar service, and food service. Hotel was very clean, and is in a nice location. Evening happy hour was great and so was breakfast! One minor thing was the soda dispenser was out of order, but that did not affect our stay. Definitely will return!

This is one of the newer style Embassy buildings but don’t be fooled. It has been rented A LOT. My first impressions were how loud the front doors were having some kind of screeching metal noise. The left elevator on the ground floor wasn’t in much better condition making a loud noise every time the door opened. Digital Key was not offered and the brand has me spoiled to passing the front desk.

The property is going overboard with Covid-19 santizing. The front desk agent went over every microscopic detail of the changes, and I was ready to wring his neck before I got a key out of him. When I got to my room there was a Covid-19 seal on the door I presume is supposed to impress me with the room being sanitized. That lasted about 33 seconds.

The room itself was as clean as it should be, the whole appearance of the place is well worn. There was a foot trail worn into the carpet that is visible to the naked eye. The wallpaper in the bathroom was stained with something that housekeeping could not get off. The bathtub had mold around the shelf, in the corners and just did not look good.

The bed and linens were in perfect condition. There was generous soap, conditioner, shampoo, and a hair dryer. I do not like these brands that have gone to liquid soap in dispensers – that’s just too cheap. And, the bar soap they offered me was Neutrogena, which I greatly appreciate.

I didn’t have a problem with this property I felt a need to complain about, but I certainly do expect better from any brand wearing the Hilton name. This place just needs a complete face lift. If I were in the area I may or may not use them again because there are so many other similar properties within 1 block. I certainly got what I paid for, but Hiltons has set a very high standard for themselves over decades, and this one is not quite up to those standards at least right now.

The swans in the fountain appeared to be happy as a lark, and didn’t care about the condition of the property. There was no manager’s reception, and no breakfast, even though the desk agent said they would have coffee and take-away breakfast items. I didn’t find anything at all; not even a cup of coffee available. If there’s no difference in price I much prefer the Embassy off 290 in the city.

My family and I like to stay at this location because we find it easy to get on Highway 183 or the Capitol of Texas Highway to travel to Downtown Austin for live music events, South Congress for shopping and dining, or The University of Texas for live sporting events. We also enjoy the complimentary made-to-order breakfast and the Manager's Reception. My teenage daughters have loved the ambiance of the lobby since they were very small, and now that it is remodeled and updated, we all enjoy it more. It does not hurt that the lobby has "two flippin' swans," as they put it on social media the first time we stayed there many years ago.

Check In did not go smoothly but the gentleman at the front desk worked hard to resolve issues. When he finally found a room it had multiple bathroom maintenance issues. I called and was given a different room that worked out great. The bed and foam pillows were very comfortable! I have neck issues and it is rare to find both bed and pillows that worked great for me. My floor had a working ice machine!! The television had a channel guide with the name of the shows and a sleep timer - always a major plus for me. It was quiet inside the hotel and my room faced the back so there was no road noise! I will stay here again on my next trip to town.
I recently earned Lifetime Diamond and that wasn't recognized. Being a Diamond member wasn't recognized but I have stayed in Hiltons weekly since earning the award and no one has acknowledged my status.

The staff was dynamite and very responsive.

But, my room had dirty carpet that was stained. DISGUSTING! I wore socks and I was still turned off.

The owner of this hotel needs to replace the carpet or get it super deep cleaned.

I will not stay here again, even though the Staff was AWESOME.

I stayed in one of the Pure Wellness rooms on the 4th floor. I have allergies and sensitive to cleaning products fragrances etc. These rooms are worth the small extra cost and I didn’t have any allergy issues while staying here. I love the filtered shower water and air purifier in my room. My only complaint was a slight odor in the living room area of my room. I noticed this odor in both Pure rooms I looked at. I didn’t notice it in the bedroom though. The beds are comfortable and it was very quiet. I noticed other reviews mentioned the noise from the atrium but I was there on Wednesday and Thursday nights and didn’t hear any noise at all in my room. Both elevators we’re working so no issues there either. The hotel has a cozy vibe and the complimentary breakfast is made to order omelettes etc which was good.

I didn't spend much time in my room, mainly just to sleep. The room rate jumper from $103 per night to $137 because I stayed Friday and Saturday nights. I thought the room was worth $103 but not $137 mainly because I did not get breakfast, there was no "bar refrigerator" or snacks to eat as so many hotels offer inside your room. I was told an additional $100 would be charged to my bill but refunded when I checked out. That happened, but I was really upset that Hilton had this policy. There wasn't even a bottle of water in my room. I would have definitely bought that. Just an average experience. I will look for another hotel next trip.

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. We are working diligently to bring back all of our amenities, including breakfast. Additionally, the pantry near the front desk offers snacks and drinks for purchase 24 hours a day. I will take your feedback regarding in-room staff to our executive committee for consideration. Thank you for taking the time to offer suggestions.

Outdated building, amenities, room décor. There was a large hole in the ceiling outside of our room with several buckets to catch water, the pool was green and murky, the hot tub area was marked off with caution tape and no housekeeping during the visit available. During our stay the satellite went out so we lost most channels of which they were mostly blurry analog to begin with. The saving grace was that they had resumed serving breakfast buffet style (they serve you) but the options were plentiful, the 3 star rating on service came from those serving breakfast and keeping the dining area tidy during the meal. We regret the we chose this location and used 111,000 of our Hilton points.

Would give it a zero if I could !! Has to be one of the worst stays my family and I have ever had and we go REGULARLY to hotels!! Room beds were small and uncomfortable , I mean two double beds...for adults ??!! ! Rooms were hot and Paul was incredibly rude when I called to verify! No plastic utensils or cups and spoons or anything to accommodate their customers. I understand covid is around but NOTHING !! My Family did NOT enjoy themselves! Its hard when you have an 11 and 5 year old and they are disappointed. Checking out as soon as they wake up after finally getting to sleep in a hot room!! Did not enjoy my stay and wasted every bot of the $130 I paid for a “premium” room. Pool was green (everyone knows that means it isn't clean) and some guy at the front desk had his friend behind there chillin with him all night. Just unprofessional and a mess. Would not recommend!! Disgusted and disappointed !!!

Before we arrived my husband told me that Hilton had 4 hotel ranges and that Embassy Suite was one of their upper ones. You couldn't convince me of that based on the room we had at this hotel. We were on the "Premium floor" which only makes me question Hilton's decision not to take better care of their hotels. The hotel is old and dated. The rooms are small. The complimentary happy hour has people lined up like cattle to get their complimentary beers, wine or rail drinks. Only one poor bartender stands and makes drink after drink. The complimentary breakfast had a line to get to cook that prepared omelets, eggs, bacon. The bacon came as crumbles rather than strips. What? The soda machine was broke so beverage choices were coffee or juices. The water had a funny taste. The room was clean but beat up. There was a faint musty odor in living area when sitting on sofa. The bathroom was tiny with cheap walling and floor in shower. The same material used on floor was uses on wall. Very, very mediocre hotel. I suspect people come hear so kids can use the pool. I was going to try pool but way too many kids in there. They have a small work out area that is open 24 hours but I didn't go there. Austin has too many nice hotels to settle for this place.
