Probably the best hotel I've stayed at for the price! The room was, of course, unique, and I spent a relaxing afternoon by the large pool. The front desk staff was very friendly. The free wifi worked well. My only issue was the thin walls, but when my neighbors were being loud at 2 am, the staff took care of...

Unfortunately we didn't book ahead and so were only able to stay one night here. It is (just) walkable across the river to the bars and restaurants downtown, but there is PLENTY of choice for food and drink in the SoCo area. Can recommend the coffee at Jo's nearby

I managed to snag a room here for SXSW and only paid $150 per night. The only reason I'm not giving is 5 stars is because the internet sucked and they charged me $25 for late check out (they said after 12:30 I had to pay, I left the room at 12:31 and was at the front desk by 12:35...

Serious value for money, great location, free wi-fi & swimming pool - what more could you ask for. Ok - the traffic passing down SoCo almost 24/7 sounds worse than it is at 04:30 in the morning - but even so you will have to go a long way to get better value for money than this. We paid a...

We stayed here last minute when were driving through Austin on a road trip and ended up staying two nights. It is in such a great location and we really liked the themed rooms. This is not luxury accommodation by any means, but the rooms are clean and reasonably sized. The staff were friendly and helpful. Don't rely on the...

Great location to walk and enjoy the shopping and dinning on South Congress and within walking distances to downtown. Expect off beat and you will not be disappointed with your stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Room decor varies by room and based on comments from others in the group I was with so does the quality. The...

We had Room 135 in the back. Good things first. The room itself is large. The bed is comfortable though don't expect high end linens and duvets because you won't find them here. Now this is where some improvement could be had. There are two pieces of painted white bamboo type garden furniture in the room: a loveseat and a...

If walkability and location are your main hotel-selection criteria, the Austin Motel is perfectly situated in a trendy South Austin neighborhood. Stayed for 3 nights on a business trip and would absolutely stay here again. This hotel is an easy, 1 mile (15 minute) walk to the downtown convention center, and is situated in SoCo near an endless number of...

This is not a "historical" site like the Driskel Hotel or the Stephen F Austin ( I think its still around), but is is historical if a 1930's tourist court can be. This inn is located in the heart of SoCo, one of the weirder parts of Austin, and the decore reflects the weirdness with antique furniture, SW tile floors...

The Austin Motel is in a great location on south Congress. You can walk to tons of places to shop, eat, or just hang out. You can also walk to downtown (about 10-15min), the bus to the airport, and a great running trail along a lake. For a great price, you will get a clean room and a nice pool...
