If you like boutique hotels, this place is for you. The rooms have been designed by someone will a great eye for interiors. With its polished concrete floors and hipster vibes it was the perfect hotel for our Austin stay. I read the reviews about noise before checking in, but I found our room to be quiet. Having said that,...

We took a quick weekend trip, Never having been to Austin before I sought advice from friends and a few locals. I had a long list of requirements; an independent hotel that was classy, hip (enough but not too much), centrally located, good design esthetic and comfortable, with a knowledge staff - Hotel San Jose exceeded our extractions in every...

From my phone conversation about reservations to check-out, Hotel San Jose was a wonderful experience. Professional & friendly staff. We loved the room, the layout of the hotel & the atmosphere. Though it has a minimalist decor, the ambience was warm, and every detail was perfection. We will definitely return to Hotel San Jose on our next visit.

Great service, wonderful ambience. Artistic design is impressive yet subtle. Indescribably "hip" yet comfortable for all ages. The bar area and pool are also lovely and landscaped in keeping with the grounds. The hotel is in the heart of the SoCo (South Congress Avenue) district with tons of shopping, great restaurants and love music!!! A quintessential Austin experience!!!

We stayed in three different hotels during our week stay in Austin, purely because we wanted to try as many as possible. San Jose was number three after a few nights at Saint Cecilia and South Congress Hotel. We loved it. We were, for some reason, checked into a disabled room, however, that just meant we had loads more space...

Went to Austin for my birthday the other year and this was where we stayed. Never been to Texas but this was a great place to basecamp from and explore the city and area. Needless to say Austin in the middle of the summer is hot. Like so hot your face feels like it's melting off but this hotel and...

I have stayed at Hotel San Jose twice this spring, and both times have been perfect and memorable. I had a big group I needed to accommodate, and they worked with me on all the weird requests and needs - never frustrated, always helpful. Overall, the service is excellent, they treat guests with so much respect and care, you feel...

Located right on South Congress next to the famous Jo's Coffee Shop with the ever more famous "I love you so much" mural on the side of the building. The staff was friendly and helpful, and there are quite a few good places to eat down the street. Also, I highly recommend trying the Activated Popsicle Shandy at the hotel...

We were in Austin for the opening of a friend's exhibit at the Blanton Museum. Our group was recommended the Hotel San Jose for the event weekend. At midnight of our first night we called the front desk about the amount of noise since our room was very close to South Congress. It wouldn't have been so bad if the...

I've stayed at Bunkhouse's sister property Hotel Cecilia twice before, which I love. It's like the fancy older sister to this property. While I loved the grounds at Hotel San Jose (very tropical and lush--a great place to wander and photograph), I didn't particularly like other aspects of the property. The rooms are laid out almost like a summer camp,...
