Against my better judgement, I chose this hotel because someone else I was traveling with wanted to stay at a Marriott because of his Bonvoy Status. Here are the issues after one full day: • Not a suite • Not at Domain • Strange TV placement to the left side of bed, makes it impossible to use TV as a computer monitor and difficult to watch TV in bed • No USB ports in the room except on TV (be sure to bring a charger) • Hot water in shower is not very hot (bring Hex wrenches and Phillips screwdriver to remove temperature stop in valve) • Weak shower head (bring your own shower head and adjustable wrench) • Not enough AC outlets (bring your own power strip or extension cord) • Poor coffee in room (bring your own coffee beans and grinder and filter cone) • Chair is too low for desk and doesn’t raise high enough (put two pillows on chair to make it usable) • Windows don’t open at all • No safe • Poor breakfast (awful looking sausage, soggy potatoes, scrambled eggs, poor coffee, no orange juice) • Gym closed • No hot water in kitchen sink • Noisy A/C • No A/C in parking garage elevator entry Bottom line is this is not a good hotel for either business or leisure travel. It is close to the Q2 Stadium

Four of us went on a business trip and our rental car failed us. Hertz proved to be unprofessional and unreliable - it took Hertz 7 hours to solve the problem. During the 7-hr stretch, even we have checked out, the hotel staff were so friendly, understanding and helpful! I will definitely stay at this hotel again for my next trip to Austin.

Great overnight stay at Towne Place. The TV location in the room is a little weird but overall our stay was fine. We would go back and stay. We love the Domain in Austin. Also, great breakfast plenty of options.

I stay solely at various levels of cost and luxury at Marriott and Hyatt hotels and suites. I am very familiar with the Marriott brand and style. I am also not picky and really only require a clean place with a decent air conditioner. This hotel, whatever this hotel is, is so far below sub-par that Marriott should be ashamed to have its name attached. I filed a formal complaint more than 48 hours ago, and no one has contacted me to follow up. I paid $218 at a corporate rate for a one-night stay, and I was in and out in less than 15 hours. It was a nightmare. First off, location. This hotel is in the middle of nothing. To get to the parking lot, you drive down residential or industrial neighborhoods, past loading docks, and past some weird factory strip mall. It all feels exquisitely unsafe. When you get to the parking lot, there is no indication as to how to get to the lobby. It is behind the unmarked glass door under covered parking. Second, overall disrepair. This is a NEW hotel and was only built 1-2 years ago. I was in a room on the 5th floor, overlooking the parking lot, strip mall, and dumpsters. The whole 5th floor hallway was hot and damp, like a tropical rain forest (in February). The elevator was broken. An exit sign on the 4th floor was hanging by its wires. The grout in the shower was crumbling. The box built into the ceiling to hold the curtains was ominously cracked throughout the entire seal. There were random paint splotches on the wall, which may have just been filth. There is a huge 6 foot gouge out of the wall in front of the elevators on the 4th floor. Third, general necessities. There was no ice bucket. There is a sign pointing to an ice machine on the 5th floor. There is no ice machine on the 5th floor. Don’t follow the sign. Take the (broken) elevator to the 4th floor. It has an ice machine. The toilet paper, which I really never complain about because, well, low expectations. But, whatever this TP was was unusable. It dissolved immediately upon contact with moisture. Fourth: cleanliness. There is none. This hotel was filthy. There was a bug on the wall next to the toilet and a long brown hair on the sink that wasn’t mine. There was makeup(!) on the pillowcase(!) and on one “clean” washcloth. There was sticky stuff on the table. The bed skirt looked as though it had (barely) survived a flood. There was a short, curly hair on the wall behind the toilet. Use your imagination as to the genesis of said hair. Be prepared for weird smells and animals, which is not unusual for a hotel with a kitchenette, but just be forewarned. Fifth: responsibility. I was sick when I checked in. I’m getting over pneumonia. I didn’t want to argue or have to switch rooms or any of that nonsense. I assumed, given the state of the common areas, that any room I moved to would be equally terrible. No one asked me how my stay was. I was in a hurry, and they didn’t ask, so I left and filed an online complaint so I wouldn’t miss anything. In my extreme rush to get the heck out of there, I left behind my $45 prescription acne face wash. I didn’t realize it until the next morning, when I was back safely at home. No one called me to tell me I’d left something behind when or if they cleaned the room and when I was still in Austin and could have retrieved it. I called, and housekeeping indicated they had it. To receive it, I had to give my credit card number to pay for shipping. Just. Don’t. Don’t be dumb like me and try to save a buck by staying far from downtown. I’m not sure all of my photos will load. Just. Trust me on this one.

My husband travels for business and his personal card had been compromised shortly before a trip. He ended up traveling with my card for expenses. I was very concerned about him being able to get check in and get access to his room because he didn’t have a card with his name on it. Chris at the front desk provided me with some of the best customer service I have received in a very long time. He provided me with solutions and took control of the situation. Immediately upon calling him, all of my concerns and worries vanished. Chris was extremely helpful and I’m so grateful. My husband said that he was so great when he checked in. He keeps telling me how awesome “that guy at the front desk” is. Thank you Chris for taking a stressful situation and turning it into a very positive experience. We’re forever grateful!

Honestly I was excited to stay here, being a great location to some meetings I had. First impressions were confusing and the entrance was literally underneath the building and that of a motel 6. I brushed it off to lack of space but the second I got to the room was very disappointed.. the rooms were tiny and not what one is accustomed to with this brand. The breakfast was ok, the bar was overpriced and the person making the drinks had no idea what they were doing. The manager truly needs to learn people skills as I tried to voice my displeasure he brushed me off… What’s the deal Austin, I just was a descent Marriott.

From the outside, it looks new. But looks can be deceiving. Upon checking in on Friday night, the front desk help was nowhere to be found. After a moment, I called out “Does anyone work here?” A grizzly looking man in an undershirt called out from his stool in the bar “She’ll be there in a minute!” I noticed the woman sitting at the bar in the stool next to him was climbing off of her barstool. When she got to the front desk, she said “I was just sipping on a soda.” I hadn’t asked why she was sitting in the bar with the man. This was just the beginning of a substandard stay. When we checked into the room, a piece of the door was missing, as if it had been pried off — it looked like a forced opening. My wife is disabled and we have a parking placard. When a car was abandoned at the curb outside the main entrance the following day, it was in a fire lane and blocking the only available disabled parking spot. The woman at the front desk was oblivious to the abandoned car. I asked her to have it towed. She acted hesitant to do so. Obviously not an advocate for the disabled. I called 9-1-1 to report the vehicle. When we had to park a distance from the hotel, we read signs in the parking lot that warned “The area is subject to flooding and the hotel takes no responsibility for any damage.” During our stay, the streaming cable channels would freeze and buffer continually. When I called the front desk, the man said that the television boxes needed to all be replaced. He said they were supposed to be done this weekend, but they didn’t get it done. The networks were essentially unwatchable. The hotel is constructed so cheaply that you can hear your neighbors walking overhead constantly. I don’t know if this is a corporate hotel or if it is franchised, but I won’t be back again. It is very unprofessionally operated and its new appearance on the outside is a mask to hide operational and staff problems.

I was staying here from a long day of traveling and was surprised how small the room was. This made it very easy to hear the couple yelling in the other room. Besides that, it was a very nice, stylish and cozy stay! The breakfast is average but the pool is beautiful, the gym was nice, and

This hotel was clean, roomy, and in a great location on the outskirts of downtown. It was close (by car) to all of the attractions in Austin. There was a Culver's right across the street for a lunch or snack. The Austin FC stadium is in walking distance! The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a nice selection of foods for all people. There was also enough room for people to site as well. The parking was free and nice as well. the only thing that I would improve is the tv. The tv service was pretty bad. It would stop or go out intermittently. The housekeeping should be commended, they do a marvelous job!

I made a reservation for two nights each for my son and daughter last October during my granddaughters wedding. I needed to give the hotel their names so they could get into the rooms although I was paying for them. Even though I had the reservation numbers and was really specific, the front desk clerk added two more rooms in my name and then charged me for a no-show one night each at $328 each. HOW DO YOU CANCEL SOMETHING YOU DO NOT KNOW EXISTS? By the time I discovered it on my bill, because I did not know I had four rooms instead of two, the hotel manager refused to credit me. Marriott also refused to help. Capital One Venture reversed the charge then charged me again saying I did not provide enough information. Which I did. They both stink too.
